Dealer Service History - Would you buy?

Hi,

I'm test driving a car and checking on the condition. I posted in another thread (click here) a few pictures regarding a rubber that comes off a window and a frost pattern on the windshield as well as a head lamp that seems to be replaced.

I had the car at my mechanic and they said in general it's a decent truck. (2021 Escalade).
I also requested the service history from the dealer and that's what they sent me. Does it concern you? I don't want to buy a lemon and it seems that most of the stuff got fixed. During my 24 hour test drive I haven't experienced any issues so far. Don't know really what to do. I can't negotiate on price as it is a no haggle price. According to KBB.com it's a great price. What do you think on the history below?

You realize a no haggle price is their gimmick? I always haggle, maybe not get much if any movement on price, but certainly on doc fees and other add on crap.

Based on all the posts you've posted on this truck coupled with that service history, I wouldn't buy that truck. But that's just my opinion and I am probably on the upper scale of OCD so take that for what it's worth.

Looks like some normal stuff.

The reprogramming events were recalls.

Heck, my Denali has had:
-Instrument cluster been reprogrammed due to “service instrument cluster” message
-Infotainment system updates 5 times
-Instrument panel has been replaced due to a software issue followed by a failure to update (because GM had a bug and software from factory could not be updated)
-On my 3rd illuminated GMC emblem
- second seat rattle fixed (TSB)
- a few other interior rattles/squeaks fixed
- Bumper, grill, headlight replaced because the driver (me) tapped a tree at 2 mph one dark, foggy, frosty winter morning ice fishing; excellently repaired with genuine GM parts by a great body shop

And I’d buy it again as it sits, none of this was consequential stuff…I attribute it to being 2nd year of model production and first year of the Google based infotainment system…

That caddy has 4year/50k mile bumper to bumper warranty…should be ok, I’d think. Nothing major on that list.. didn’t read your other posts though.

Looks like the original owner was real picky, or a relative of someone at the dealership, or both. At that mileage I'd get the transmission serviced if you buy it. Pretty classy vehicle!

Get ATF service, disable Cylinder Confusion,
change the antifreeze, test the battery, check the alignment,
and since the oil hasn't been changed in 30,000 miles,
find out where ELSE it was serviced after you change the motor oil.

I'd be leary of the auto transmission- customer concern not duplicated. Was there an actual problem, previous owner just being picky, or previous owner just lived with whatever it was? Unless I missed it and it was fixed/resolved.

Wife drove her previous suv for 3 years (50k miles) with the transmission acting up. Brought it in twice and both times dealer said no codes so there's nothing wrong. They never even drove it. Finally it started slipping horribly. Made another appointment and finally on the way there the dash lit up and said service transmission. They replaced it then (lifetime warranty). Some dealers or mechanics in general won't do a thing unless their computer/code reader tells them too.

It was changed 3,000 miles ago at the Cadlillac Dealership, according to detailed service and Carfax history. They changed it every 7k miles, with one exception

To that point the owner stated something feels like it would engage/disengage at around 10-15mph when the vehicle comes to a stop. They couldn't reproduce it. Was at 4k miles and never occured again in the last 3 years.
