Yeah mine were $1xx dollars when I did them. Only a year or two ago. They must be directly tied to the housing market.

OP, disconnect the mounts from the frame first, jack up the engine ( I gently lifted up on the exhaust - cats), then undo from the block.

I used my floor jack and a block of wood to lift from the rear oil pan. Being 4WD, I don't have much access to the engine.

Copy that.

I didn't like the idea of the fulcrum-pouint of sliding a 2x4 up against the bottom of my oil pan, mostly because I've broken one before, and I'd rather deal with manifold bolts shearing (they didn't).

If you lift at the back edge, its the strongest point. I do this with Volvo D13 engines that weight almost 2000 lbs.

This is almost certainly the way I'll support my 5.3 when I pull it out for the 6.0 swap.

Do it. Mine are installed. There's a slight noticeable difference in how the power responds due to the stiffer bushing. There's also a slight vibration at traffic stop idle but barely noticable. Then again, mine are the 1/2 lowered ones so that might also have made a difference.

I bought the $99 one at Autozone. I can't see myself spending anything more than that. Aint worth it.

If I have to change it out in a few years, so be it. Next time I will have it done sooner knowing exactly what tools is needed to get it done.

Sounds good, I probably won't notice or care about that.

I changed the left one on my '09 Tahoe a couple of months ago. Removed left front wheel and fender liner. I didn't want to lift the engine by the oil pan or the exhaust system. There is a small flat pad, I believe on the bell housing, that I was able to push on with a piece of 2x4 and a floor jack. Not fun!
