Possibly low voltage, low enough to not effect oem but enough to effect the pioneer. I bet the pioneer has tighter specs than the oem deck.
you could always call pioneer tech support and ask
have you ever updated the radio firmware? there should be at least 1 release available since the radio was new that's about all pioneer ever does.
if the pac adapter has usb you could try updating it as well, that would be done via usb and the web browser or there app, the pioneer would be done either via recordable disc or sd card probably has to be like 8gb minimum.

I did update the firmware on the pioneer after this issue started. That didnt solve my issue. The pac i have has no usb. Atleast the one i have.

I hate issues like this. Everything works flawlessly for about 2 years then boom.
