Final pics - the receiver 2" tube/body is ~8" off the ground - same as the metal pan plate under the engine - so no loss of ground clearance.
Ordered a 12" hitch (from pin to center of ball) to get the ball to stick out far enough for clearance around the ball without banging into the bumper chrome piece.
FYI - I use this to push our trailer around a blind curve into a narrow space between home and fence. Front push gives *precise* control + I can see as it's a left curve and makes it a sure thing I won't knock over the fence or gouge the house
