Hello everyone, new to site so not sure how to do this properly. I bought a 2002 Yukon Denali the front driveshaft was removed so I put back in, there is no clunking but it grinds on hard acceleration from a stop? It sounds like a spline trying to mesh up? Has anyone had this happen? Is it the transfer case cause it shouldn’t have been driven without the shaft? It drives without it but want front shaft back in

Pics of the truck, please.

You are already receiving clarifying questions from the knowledgeable folks on this Forum.

I'd take the truck to a quality local repair shop and get it on a good lift and then get the wheels in the air. Then have someone put the transmission in drive and have another person with a mechanic's stethoscope go along under the truck and pinpoint the exact location of the noise. I did this last year and discovered that the noise was from my front differential and it had to be replaced.
