In the new 21+ vehicles.... has anyone replaced their batteries yet? Mine "Seems" to be cranking slower to the point of making me nervous. When I load test it, it is still in the good range albeit at the very bottom of the good range. About 3.5 years old now....

Replaced mine at about a year old. OEM do not seem to be the highest quality. I went with Odyssey and am extremely happy.

Seems that 3 years is the going rate today. I think it’s all the extra electronics in the vehicles now. My wife’s 2018 MB is on its 3rd battery and I believe my 2015 is on its 3rd battery, probably due for another *sigh*

Surprisingly, the yellow top optima in my van was pushing 8 years before I retired it.

Slow crank could also be your starter on its way out. Mine shit the bed at about 60k miles. It was showing signs of weak battery but was actually the starter itself

I don't know it hot or cold climates are harder on batteries, but living in a hot climate I've been getting an average of 3-4 years out of a battery over the past 15 or so years driving Tahoes. From that experience, if I suspected a battery was going out and it was in that age range, I'd probably go ahead and replace it.

It’s been said that batteries die in August but don’t fall over until January.

I just had to do mine. My 2021 had the original battery, it had a date stamp of 4/8/2020 on it. Got a new Duracell 94R AGM from a local store. I had them test my old battery, and sure enough the testing machine said it was bad.

When I am out of town for over a week..... I use this to trickle charge my AGM battery.
They tend to discharge when idle for a while, where, my old standard battery held it's charge..

Since the 2007 Denali, I have put in a 2 nd Battery. Never any problems after that. In all 3 models since.
