IMG_5226.jpegRefreshed the front bow tie today. Liftgate bow tie is next with a free, good weather day and a couple of hours. Primer, base coat, ground coat, gloss clear coat. Perfect WDT WA800J match from Automotive Touch Up.

Just some cleaning on the carpeted 3rd row seats.

Felt like some grease and not sure what transfered it there.

Something we had transported, so I pulled out the Folex and made short order of the mark.

Photo shows carpet still a bit wet, hence the color variation.

Liftgate bow tie refreshed. Removed the cowling and wiper arms for fresh paint and clear coat. Due for an oil change and tire rotation soon. Sitting at 85777 and counting.

When your wife’s best friend stops by for an off duty coffee. Keeps the neighbors on their toes.

Another side story from her LEO friend. Her daughter and son were home one night and went to get McDonald’s for dinner in the white Kia. Her son (age 12) noticed that the license plate was different and called his mom. Turns out the same white Kia model car had been stolen from their area. The thieves stopped by where their car was parked in the middle of the night, swapped the rear plate and drove off, leaving them with the stolen car plate. Whoa!

Their mom’s police Tahoe was not there at the time unfortunately for deterrence. Once she found out, she called it in and had the plates run. She has to get new plates for the Kia and luckily the kids were not pulled over with a stolen vehicle report. Imagine how scared they would have been, even with their mom being LEO, with the red and blues and treating them, unknowingly, like a stolen car suspect?

Aurora, CO cops pulled over a minivan a few years back for a stolen plate (but the reported plate was from an out of state motorcycle). Talk about someone not paying attention. The city just settled a lawsuit about the stop.

How does the LEO friend like the new Tahoe? How does it handle its duties?

She was in and out so fast, I did not get a chance to ask her, but I will and let you know. She's pretty stoked to be in it for sure!

95000 miles

Got some thread updates to do still, but here’s a few pics from today when the wife and I went to breakfast. Just to keep it current.

Looks like I blew a gasket. Totally unplanned positioning too for the photo op.

This locattion used to rechrome / plate things back in the day.

The sign is still up, but the buildings around have fallen victim to the weather and lack of care.

Soon to be developed I would guess.

Gave her a quick 1 step polish and detail last weekend and rolled with zero rain for a few days. Still shines really nice.

Can you talk the wifey into a wheel upgrade with maybe 22 inch replicas?
