Hello, I’m working on a 99 Yukon (obs) with push button 4wd shifter. After changing transmission the transfer case will not shift into 2 wheel drive. You can hear the motor working it will shift but then returns back to 4 lo. I pulled motor off transmission, grounded it and had my wife push the button while I watched. It went from 4 lo to what I’m assuming is 2hi and then right back to 4lo 2times each time she pushed the 2hi button. I changed switch and transfer case motor with new switch and remanned motor but still will not leave lo 4. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance

Put a 9/16 wrench on the TC shift shaft, with encoder motor removed, see if you can move it to 4 high. Might have to jack up the rear diff so axle will roll, while trying to shift.

How many positions should the transfer case have, I get 3 “clicks” when turning with a wrench
