I have a 2012 Yukon XL Denali and just received the GM DVD disc (part #23286273) but I am not sure how to load it?

Anyone have instructions on how to use this DVD disc to update the Map/Navigation system?

BTW, the radio/system I have is part #23180744 for the 2012-2014 years

there is a available "separate" navigation system owners manual that should point you in the right direction
it should be noted though that regardless your maps will still be 10 years old, so it's not going to help
there should be a option to either eject the existing nav disc or update the hard drive if equipped
that nav disc is NOISY as hell and it annoying as hell, all you hear is zz zz zz zz zz zz zz zz

I have read the navigation system owners manual and that is no help.

The age of the map update is not important.

How to get to the option to eject/update the maps/navigation is what I am looking for. There have been a few YouTube videos that I have seen and they are no help either as they do not work.

it's in the radio menu, where exactly not 100% sure yanked mine out many many many years ago.
just poke thru the menus until you find it, not just sort of, check each and every option, it's there

I found out that the Nav System I have does NOT have a disc, only updated via download from the OnStar system.

That really sucks!

Ya some were changed to a hard drive instead of a nav disc, but you would think that the drive could be updated with a disc, you should be able to run it with the nav disc inserted? Maybe

2012 and later are different from early GMT900s. The earlier ones keep the disc inside, the later ones like yours save the information from the disc to an internal drive.

You cannot buy a disc off Ebay and use it. They are VIN specific and made for each vehicle. I have yet to find out where the VIN is on the discs so I could change it and burn a new disc or any other way around it.

The last update was in 2016 and GM will not, refuses to, authorize Here! to give us updated maps. I don't like using my phone and aftermarket nav units while feature rich and up to date, do not last.
