Bought the DD SS3 fogs with the optional amber marker light. Has anyone installed the ones with the marker? What did you splice into and where?

and if by chance you were still asking then the amber light would connect to the running lights, I opted to not get the amber

Would you all do the diode dynamics fog lights again?

I want to do amber lights for when I’m off-roading. Won’t be used on road.

So looking for a bright amber.

Anyone have opinions?

I just put a set of these on; Yellow Pro (36W).
I can tell you that they are leaps and bounds brighter than the OEM fog lights.
I like the amber back light option too; color matches the park lights very well.
Haven't had a fog yet, but did use them during a heavy rain and they certainly helped light up the road with no glare.

OP is probably long gone, but for anyone coming across this thread, I got to the headlamp connectors to tap into the park lights to power the SS3 backlights.headlamp pinouts.png
Both headlight connectors are a bit of a pain to get to, so you can find and tap into the wiring harnesses down by the fog light areas.
The cloth tape on the harness (inside the plastic loom) is its own kind of pain as well.

Having gotten to the connectors already for testing each pin, I just tapped into the cables right at the headlamp connectors.
The DD kit supplies plenty of length on the cable assembly to reach.
You'll have extra cable length to zip tie out of the way when you're done.

For what it's worth, this backlight circuit only draws 0.03A @ 12.8V (0.4W), per DD.
