I only found out about it after messing around in the junkyard, I first pulled one that was the new style and kept it in case mine burned out and sure enough a couple months later mine burnt out and at that point was not aware of any differences, when I went to the junkyard again I grabbed another one to have a spare again and another one just for the heck of it because it was different. I think I only paid like $10 for each of these.Damn, this is the friends & family inside scoop info. Never would have guessed something like this was different. Good Stuff!

usually the aftermarket ones are total garbage, hence I keep a original on the shelf, last thing I need is the fan going out in 110deg weather.
I even bought another "new" oem resistor to have a spare but these gmt900 resistors are massively built compared to the gmt800 ones that would burn out left & right. the original is still kicking along just fine.
