I’m currently bouncing between four different vehicle choices and really need the opinion of someone who is not my wife. Basically I need an outsiders perspective.

Here are the four vehicles I’m looking at:
2025 Yukon AT4
2025 Tahoe Z71
2025 Lincoln aviator
2025 Genesis GV80

The exact build of each of these vehicles is sort of irrelevant but they all hover around the same purchase price, which is important

We’re two relatively young people with no kids as of yet and history of GM vehicles.

Looking for general opinions about the vehicles themselves and if anyone has any experience that they can share. Hoping for some info thay may help us shed some light on this decision. Thank you.

Well put it this way your way better off leaning to what the wife's wants then you because if you purchase a vehicle on more what you want if something ever happens to that vehicle you will never and I mean never hear the end of it. Don't pressure her to make the decision if you do she will come back and make her decision based on what you want and that will give her ammunition if something happens. Ask her what she thinks of a certain vehicle if she hesitates to reply then she's not sure. When we buy a vehicle I ask my wife which one does she like and don't base your answer on what you think I like. That's how I do it.

Whatever is the most dependable, least breakdowns and closest and best service dept...... Because when my wife's vehicle is down... THAT'S when no one is happy. She just wants to drive it and put gas in it and go every day..... That is all.....

the GM products have far more off road capability than the others. This is helpful in a host of situations beyond recreational off roading.

They also have substantially more cargo and passenger room. The Yukon and Tahoe have a fully-usable-for-adults third row. It is a long road trip quality seat. The GM products also have a standard V8 and an optional diesel.

The Aviator is a mid sized front wheel drive suv. twin turbo v6 with 400 hp. hauls ass. Like most mid size the third row is for short trips.

Genesis is a GV80 is Hyundai's version of Aviator. Very similar vehicles.

Genesis and Aviator have "tech overload" as a feature. Not that the GM products don't have a heaping dose of tech, but it isn't the main design objective. The luxury brands are focusing on tech as a main design objective...

The genesis and aviator would be easier for everyday driving in urban areas and parking. But the first time your wife wants a dresser, tables, and chairs from Home Goods, both of you will deeply regret not getting the larger, more capable vehicle.

Only real downside to the GM products is parking. This is heavily mitigated by the parking sensors that are quite useful.

All 4 options will have atrocious depreciation and resale value. So pick the one that will give you the best service in all areas of your life because financially you are gonna be stuck with it. And the derivative of this...if you are laying down $70-80K for a vehicle pick one that will have the higher pride of ownership.

I've learned that the larger vehicle in the end works better everywhere but parking...and you will keep it longer.

Once you own and drive a Tahoe sized vehicle. It’s hard to go backwards.
It’s smooth riding. Expandable for family needs. 2 kids, some strollers and groceries are easily carried. Great in the snow and rain.

ETA. Rent one of each size. Drive it for a day or weekend. Do your errands.

Get a Hyundai santa fe. Lol.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, depreciation on anything that is NOT a pick up truck or diesel is ridiculous.

Lincoln is way past it’s glory days imo and i am surprised that they haven’t gone the way of Mercury yet, so that would be a hard no for me.

As far as the (remaining) options go, I would pick the Tahoe or Yukon.. because that’s what I like. BUT…. That being said, I’ve never seen anyone with a Genesis that was disappointed with it. i have only heard good things.

This is an amazing post and opinion. THANK YOU. The furniture part really hit home, my wife life’s furniture shopping.

I’m coming from a Sierra AT4 so the size isn’t an issue. In fact, the Yukon and Tahoe are almost 2 feet shorter so I’m upgrading my maneuverability.

Really it’ll come down to Tahoe or Yukon, which is a whole different can of worms

well the yukon & tahoe are the same thing, so that narrows it down to 3.
the yukon and tahoe share the same platform, peel the skin off and they are identical.
same as if your wife went out and dye's her hair purple, same wife different color hair.
