Need vehicle opinion other than my wifes

I will be married for 50 years next month, and I've learned a few things during that period, many the hard way.

1. You wife most definitely has an opinion, and you need to figure out what that is. I know, often that can be harder than tackling a bull without rope, but you need to coax that opinion out of her. Because, you will know her opinion after you've made the decision, hopefully the right one.

2. Happy Wife = Happy Life A very trite saying, but as true as the earth continuing to revolve around the sun. And, if you plan to keep the vehicle for any length of time, you want her to be happy with it.

I'm biased a little, I like GM especially lately and have had two Yukons in last several years. The Z71 Tahoe is also super nice. I've had overall good sales and service experience with GM over the last 30 years.

I'd steer clear of Genesis. A significant number of dealers have closed, and they're basically terrible Hyundai sales and service teams. I had a (Hyundai) Genesis sedan and a Genesis G80 and the sales and service experiences were miserable across two different dealers. Their promises of concierge and loaner services are at best a stretch and at worst a flat out lie. Any time I needed a loaner or concierge pickup I was quoted several months out, even for recalls. Never once was able to even get a loaner car. Multiple trips to the service department for the same issue before it was resolved. Just overall terrible experiences. Sales experience was a little scummy as well, they told me I qualified for a "pull ahead" to get out of my lease early to get into a new Genesis and I agreed...then I received a $2000 bill from Hyundai finance that I had to fight the dealership to pay. I had everything in writing thankfully.

Personally Yukon XL Denali.
You will not beat the ride due to the extended wheel base. Hiway-city-back roads. With the XL you can put a 4x8 sheet in it. Options in the Denali are a must . Ride height, lowers for exiting, and many more. If your wife is not tall like mine the lowering is great. With all the nuts on the road you also have a little more protection.
If you do get one get the dealer to swap the tires for Michelin and or be sure all tires are "road force" balanced. I have now owned 7 Yulon XLs in my life. (I'm OLD LOL)

The genesis and aviator would be easier for everyday driving in urban areas and parking. But the first time your wife wants a dresser, tables, and chairs from Home Goods, both of you will deeply regret not getting the larger, more capable vehicle.

Only real downside to the GM products is parking. This is heavily mitigated by the parking sensors that are quite useful.

All 4 options will have atrocious depreciation and resale value. So pick the one that will give you the best service in all areas of your life because financially you are gonna be stuck with it. And the derivative of this...if you are laying down $70-80K for a vehicle pick one that will have the higher pride of ownership.

I've learned that the larger vehicle in the end works better everywhere but parking...and you will keep it longer.

Aviator is rear wheel drive......

He said price is important and a Denali is at least $20K more than what he is looking at.

I would cross Yukon and Tahoe off the list. Engine problems! Others backorder cuz 6.2l engine is bad!

Have you driven all of them yet? With your wife along? I have made instant decisions just by sitting in a vehicle. What do you plan on doing with the vehicle? An AT4/Z71 is a completely different animal than the other two. And while a Suburban/XL is nice for extra space, there are only 2 of you. Drive one to see if you need something THAT big. It will barely fit in many garages.

Yea... My XL fits in my garage. I use a tire stop for the 10 inch space from the wall. ( 5 inches from the garage door closing )
I back in, so there's room for our car to park beside. ( I love the folding mirrors so I don't hit them, squeezing between the cars)

I am so glad, the washer/dryer is inside the house.....

Having gone through the ordering process recently, if you are passionate about a specific color, make sure you can get it on the model you want. I've found GM's color palette to be very limited in some models.

Also, do you need 4WD? We're (my co-driver and I) are quite fond of the Tahoes, but have ordered a GMC 1500 to replace our '02 2500HD.
