Hi guys and gals. I own a 2008 GMC Yukon Denali. The block has a hole in it. I'm seeking a block with low mileage. Questions are I seen a 2008 Cadillac Escalade with 70000 miles. Besides the electrical, can I use that engine and just take my stuff off mine and put on that? Is the transmission different and would I need that as well. I'm trying to use my wire harness and ECU. Any feedback I appreciate. Also anyone who has one reasonably priced.

Exactly the same, both used the L92. It's plug and play as your drivetrains are identical. The Cadillac in that year had the engine tuned for 91 octane and 403 horses, yours is tuned for regular gas at 380 horses. Swapping the engine and keeping your computer won't change a thing, good. Good either way.

If that doesn't work out, any L92 or L9H or even an L94 will work with your existing harness and ECM. Try to stay with the first two and avoid the third unless the price is too good to resist!

Thank you so much swathdiver. I appreciate you knowledge. I wanted to delete the dod to put in a stage 3 cam and double springs on my 823 heads. Just to increase the horsepower. So when I do get it out and get a engine. I'll keep you in mind to assist me if that's ok.

It is a shame to read that you have a hole in your L92 block. That is a wonderful motor, and often finds itself in the hands of the racing crowd. I don't believe that the 2008 Escalades had DOD, so you won't have to delete anything.
