As many others have posted, my OnStar seems to have died a slow death. We were slowly losing functions (Compass, GPS, Hotspot, buttons inoperable) Those functions have been gone for a couple weeks now. The issue is I think this is triggering an intermittent CEL (Check Engine Light) with the U1962 code. The CEL will stay on for 1 drive cycle about every 5 cycles.

I have 40k miles so no bumper to bumper coverage. Unlike others I decided I really don't care and if I picture the next 5 years of ownership I was never really going to use any of the functions (No speed limit is probably the only downside) Any one have any ideas on how I can stop this from triggering a CEL?

This is a real wild card I am tossing out here, go get your battery tested and possibly replaced. It is due and these newer vehicles with so many computer modules need a good strong battery to function properly.

Do some research on the U1962 code online.

Some examples

U1962 code

Additional P1962 Info

I deal with so many Engine related OBDII codes I am always in P mode!
