When you slide your wheel spacer on, the actual wheel stud from you hub will stick out farther than the spacer so you have to cut them a little shorter. Make sure that you screw your lug nut on the stud and then cut, that way when you unscrew the lug nut, it'll straighten any threads out that...
Thanks guys. 01Kon- The 35's aren't too bad with the BB tune. I've been looking around for gears but since its only a weekender/ boat hauler now, they've been on the backburner.
Its been a little while since I've been on the forum but here's an updated pic on the Tahoe. Added the 20s on 35s, 3" lift knuckles up front and 3" spacers in the rear. De-cranked the t-bars a little. Swapped the yellow halogen lights in the grill out for 4x round LED lights. Hope you guys like...
Hey guys, so I recently replaced the pinion seal for the rear diff and after driving the truck maybe 10mi back and forth to the alignment shop I noticed that I was still leaking some diff fluid. I had the shop go ahead a replace it again because maybe I messed it up somehow but no luck and its...
Bolted up the new wheels and tires! got an alignment. They are 20" Fuel Trophys and 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Graps. Trimmed a little of the rear fenders, but finally came to the conclusion that i need to go higher. Just ordered lift spindles.
Pinion seal, rear axle seal, rear rotors and pads. Ended up doing all of that because I thought my parking brake pads were gone since my parking brake was slipping. Pulled my wheel off and everything was soaked on the driver rear. Then noticed some leakage from the pinion seal.
I have a 2002 coming up on 200k. Its better if you buy the upper control arms with the balljoints already installed from rock auto and lowers with them installed if your wallet can take it. I just ended up pressing the lowers myself so I didn't have to pay 5hrs mech time per side. Not a bad job...
Replaced my upper control arms, lower balljoints, pitman and idler arms, sway bar bushings and links, innner and outer tie rod ends. I have my new wheel setup coming in this week and only want to have one alignment done.
So I finally ordered my new wheel/tire setup and the Ballistic Jesters are for sale. They are 17x9, 0 offset. With my 285/70 BFG ATs, they stuck out about 1/4" from the fenders. Can ship if you pay shipping but would prefer pickup.
$400
Will add more pics tomorrow.
You could run a 1.5" silverado lift and get longer bolts for the tahoe then the HD grill and front bumper pad so it covers that gap in the front and use a filler panel between the rear bumper and the gate so you can still tow. Thats what I went with when I had a stock front bumper. For now I'm...
Not trying to steer you away from your lift kit but for a little more mula, (like 400- 450$) you can get bilstein 5100's which are known to be awesome shocks and then buy the lift coil spacers and lift keys individually. With new shocks, its odd that they are including the shock extenders...
Im not sure about the 5160's but most likely because the dodge ram shock is interchangeable with our tahoe/yukons, just like our extended rear swaybar endlinks are from jeeps.
