I am doing the rear main, oil cooler lines and gasket, trans cooler lines as well as a larger cooler, new flex plate and starter (grinds occasionally), New outer diff seal and maybe the oil pan gasket if it needs it. Turned out getting laid off worked out well for me. Got another job 2 days...
I have an 04 Yukon Denali that will be going in for a transmission rebuild in a few weeks. The trans will be built with high energy bands, corvette shift servo, larger cooler and some other "heavy duty" parts. I figured while it's out I should do a few of those "since I'm already in there"...
Tried banging on the tank and it didn't work. The new pump will be in today but I dont think I'll have time to change it until Monday. I'll check voltage when I have the tank down.
Truck is an 04 Denali. I was driving on the highway and felt a few small backfires in the exhaust then lost all power. Got off the highway and truck died and would only restart for a second. Didn't think to check for fuel at the time. I've had a slight miss occasionally for a while and had a...
My truck died getting off the highway a few days ago. I was driving along and heard a few small back fires then lost all power. I managed to get off the highway and have the truck towed home. It would start but wouldn't even get up to idle speed then died in a second or two. I've been having a...
I've put about 40-45 hours on the boat so far this summer. She runs great. Only issue so far is the belt sheared a rib off as I've had some tracking issues with the larger alternator. When it broke it took out the pcm coolant temp sensor. Boat still runs fine and with one less rib it tracks...
Probably the crappiest pic of both my truck and boat but all I have right now. This was the first ttime I'd ever had the boat in the water. I bought it cheap and redid the entire interior, almost all the wiring and dropped in a fuel injected 4.3. If you want to see the whole build it's here...
You could go the route I did OB. Stock Bose sub up front and a custom enclosure in the rear for a 12" yes it does show but only takes up about an inch of cargo space because of the grill.
I found it on rock originally for less but couldn't copy the correct link from there. I'm just wondering what issues I may run into. Aside from leaks the only other thing that can really go wrong with an aluminum radiator is something internal not working right (like the lack of a restrictor)...
I build custom cars and boats for a living. Most of the time things are done the same on cars even between different makes. Almost all of it is a compromise done to work for the average consumer in most environments and to be economical for the manufacturer. They don't know if a given vehicle is...
Similar idea. The problem with carbs is the fuel gets very cold as it expands into the intake and can actually "freeze" the intake. In fuel injection the fuel is much deeper in the intact tract so its not an issue. When i swap the radiator I'm just going to cap the lines
In every other car I've had or heard of the coolant is there to warm the throttle body on very cold days. It can theoretically freeze up if it gets cold enough. I've bypassed it on most of my cars to keep it running cooler and never had an issue. It's a common mod on almost any performance...
I forgot to top it off and I have a leak. Got to replace the radiator now. Going to do that, electric fan, and trans cooler all at once. Is there any reason not to bypass the coolant through the throttle body? It's a pain to have to pull it to pull the manifold and it will clean up the engine...
