Yup fresh battery. Yes it will lock and unlock up until you lock it and the lights time off. -

I've had the truck for 3 years. Everything worked as it should have up until a few months ago. I did put fresh battery in fob. I can lock and unlock it when truck is awake just fine. Fob works, interior works... I don't know about after market alarm, it seems pretty basic and boring normal... -
