Driver side turn signal indicator on the dash is frozen, along with the corresponding left arrow on the mirror, when I drive with my headlights on.

Check the rear lighting block for corrosion, it is right by the passenger rear tire. Mine had one green pin and caused all kinds of weird turn signal behavior until I cleaned it.

The ABS and the P Brake light keep coming on

My fix to this was to repair the ABS module. Resolder the connections inside. A replacement is kind of expensive, and a junk yard one will likely have the same problem.

Changing coolant in a 2004 Tahoe z71 with rear heat

Most people don’t use the valve, cause it may break, and you’ll need a new radiator. Some years don’t even have one anyway

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The DIY kit I did has been pretty good. Starting to show wear because somebody (not me!) turns their tires while not moving in the same spot every time. Be damn sure you get any oil stains out before you do it. It’s lasted probably 8 years now though, still looks good except for the tire wear

    Rear center brake hose replacement/installation

No special tools needed, assuming you have a flare wrench. Have fun, even after goodridge sent me some little piece, it still leaked. Ended up using an OEM hose for that

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Where’d you get this hose barb? That’s a pretty good idea for trips…one of mine is a dorman at the moment…

    Rear main info

Here’s some info about the barbell. Might as well while you’re there.

Poll: how does your gas gauge read up vs down hill?

Mine used to read empty if I parked slightly uphill, and full downhill. That was before i replaced the fuel pump and evap system, now it reads the same either way

    Strange electrical issue.

Just because you replaced a part, doesn’t mean it’s a good part. But you’d think you’d get a code when scanned (won’t turn on CEL) though for those. You can easily scan/or test the brake/stop switch.

    FIX headlight/dimmer switch (not replace)

Here’s what is usually wrong if your dimming lights are acting wonky. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to remove the switch. Just 4 screws and pry it apart. Then you might see corrosion all over the traces and contacts. Mine wasn’t that bad. If the little gold cymbal looking things falls out on...

How to fix brake switch (not replace)

My top (3rd) brake light did not work when the switch was bad.

04 Tahoe right side turn signals

Check bulbs first. If still goofy, might want to check the lighting block just in front of the rear wheel up in the body, it’ll do some weird stuff if it has some corrosion. Replacement is about $15-20, but I cleaned one green pin on mine 4 years ago with no issues since. I assume you are using...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Battery died for the second time in about 3 weeks. Took battery to Walmart for a free replacement. Done. Anyone have a battery tester that actually works? I had this little TopDon Chineseum one (Kilmer recommended) and I might as well use my daughters magic 8 ball. It said my battery was good...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Decided to order a new brake switch since the price dropped to $6.47 for the OEM one on Amazon (was $17.77 yesterday). My fixed one is still working , but hey that’s cheap what the heck. (Not for power pedals) GM Genuine Parts D891A Brake Light Switch...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Truck sat while I was out of town for a week or so, then I was trying outa couple of scan tools and the battery died. Stupid you can’t lock the rear hatch at all when the battery is inside your garage charging! Or maybe I’m stupid and you can?

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Noticed I had no cruise control today. Yep, no brake lights either. Fixed the switch, at least for now. Didn’t want to wait for a replacement. Put how to fix the switch in the tech section.

How to fix brake switch (not replace)

Today my cruise control stopped working. A quick check showed no brake lights either. No dash warning lights will come on. Pulled several codes related to cruise switch, brake lights etc. P1574 Stoplamp switch circuit P0568 cruise control set switch circuit P0567 cruise control resume switch...
