2004 z71/Warning on Cerakote plastic trim coat

I can’t even tell what the picture is, but this stuff is amazing for textured black plastic. I don’t think I’d try it on smooth plastic, I’ve read enough warnings it’s not for that

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Nope. I was just careful, you can wipe it off the paint if you don’t let it dry.

Help some Tahoe owners out. Good info!!

The pitman arm wasn’t very hard, I just slightly loosened and moved the steering box. Easy. And Removing the tank to do it correctly is not hard either. I don’t have a lift either.

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

sorry that this has to be done, but there are “mechanics” out there that won’t change the oil filter, lie and say the replaced gaskets, all kinds of stuff. Piece of mind, and like I said, can weed out a liar pretty quick, even if he’s a good liar and a nice guy

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

Yeah just put some paint on a few bolt different heads that he would have to take off. The socket or wrench would damage the paint, so if the paint is exactly as you left it, he didn’t do the job.

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

maybe, but why not take 2 minutes and verify. Trust but verify lol! At least you’d know for sure it was done or you need a different guy

2001 Burban, almost no oil pressure even after replacing the oil pump

I change mine every 5k or 50% of the DIC, whichever happens first. I highly doubt JUST waiting till 7500 or even 10k using synthetic is causing that much sludge, almost has to be some other problem. When I did my pan, there was zero sludge. I also saw several GMT800 trucks that routinely only go...

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

He sounds honest, but I’d stick some paint or something on a few bolts just in case. People around here will definitely just take your part and call you tomorrow saying it’s done without doing a damn thing.

    2002 Tahoe Z71 5.3l - stainless steel brake hoses

It’s the steel jacket that largely makes rubber brake hoses not flex very much.

    2002 Tahoe Z71 5.3l - stainless steel brake hoses

“Rubber hoses”: inner liner is a corrosion and brake-fluid resistant compound designed (normally PTFE / Teflon® based) purely to keep the brake fluid in. Around the outside of that, there’s a steel webbed mesh. This is what gives the brake hose its strength and stops it from bulging and...

    2002 Tahoe Z71 5.3l - stainless steel brake hoses

I’d still be willing to bet 75% of the difference is because they’re new- brand new hoses would feel better too. They aren’t rubber inside.

    General Maintenance ?

Perhaps your parking downhill is allowing oil to submerge your oil pick up oring? I wouldnt do shocks until you remedy the oil pressure situation, but 170k, yeah they are ready for a new set- front shocks are pretty cheap and easy.
