building my own front diff. Ford 8.8 LSD

I've been a member of three truck forums for about 8 years and rarely see front differential problems other than actuators. TahoeOverlanding on here and Youtube does solid axle conversions and even offers financing for the parts according to the title of his latest video.

Sold the 2019 Yukon XL SLT 4x4: 86K miles...guess how much?

A battery's life is more accurately measured in years or engine hours. If you drove it around in AUTO, that's why you wore out your bearings, seals, differential, Stabilitrak codes, etc. Transmission fluid ought to been changed by 45K miles. The next guy will probably have to overhaul/replace...

2012 Yukon XL Denali seat issues

Download a code reader app to your phone that can read ABS and BCM codes. The codes will tell you what is wrong and why or at least where to start looking. Of course, this gets paired with an OBDII adapter, Bluetooth or WIFI to talk to the phone.

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

I mentioned the Duraburbs because you might find one in your price range and if done by the company in Sanford, it's a professional conversion that works just it should from the factory. I've done both and preferred buying the lower mileage vehicle. Generally speaking the transmissions wear...

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

Look for a Duraburb conversion (Made in Sanford), a Yukon or Suburban with the 6.6 DirtyMax and 6-speed Allison 1000. All of the GMT900 2500s are built on the pre-2011 chassis and have either the LY6 (2007-2009) or L96 6.0 LS engines. The 2007s had the 4L80 4-speed, the newer ones the 6L90...

    Larger gas tank

Since the feds consider the gas tank part of the emissions on a vehicle, nobody touches them anymore. There is a company in Idaho that makes larger tanks for diesel trucks, if the openings are the same... Stopping every couple hours while towing is good practice to make sure everything is aok...

    New guy from No. Illinois

About 17-18 gallons of E50. At full strength (50% ethanol content), E50 is akin to 93.5 octane. Hey Rick, how about some pics of your Pontiacs?

    09 Tahoe

In 2008 there were a handful of RWD LTZ Tahoes with the 6.2 motor and those had the 6-speed as well. But other than that, you are correct.

    09 Tahoe

The 4.8s used in the Tahoe and Yukon from 2007-2009 had 4-speed transmissions and were RWD. I don't know if they were 4L60s, 4L65s or 4L70s. Probably the former.

Man, I thought this was another opportunity to say my oil is best and everyone else's is wrong! LOL

    P0171 and P0174 - Stabilitrak...only under certain conditions.

These codes are generally indicative of a wiring issue such as a critter munching on the wires or a bad ECM. That being said, you may have a cat on its way out. If the downstream sensors move a lot, that's indicative of a failed cat. Slow and steady is normal. Have you inspected your plugs...

    09 Tahoe

Don't think so but let's ask Nick: @NickTransmissions That a 4.8 equipped Tahoe? The other engines have 6-speeds.

2017 Tahoe with no air in front of cabin. Only rear.

Post the codes, all of them. Ought to be some "B" codes in there.

Looking to buy a work truck. Need expert assistance.

$4-5K is near scrapyard prices here in Florida for that kind of truck. Might look for a heavy half-ton, GMT800 pickup with 8 lug wheels to handle your weights. If memory serves, the crew cabs could be had with the 6.5 foot bed.

    2012 better years?

2012 introduced Hill Start Assist and Trailer Sway Control. The navigation unit went to a hard drive based system and you can replay live music. Better voice navigation controls, cruise control updates for towing. Yes, AFM was greatly improved by this point as well.

    Is this factory original shocks?

Those are original. That is the original part number but has likely been superseded. In your glovebox is an RPO sheet with all the codes that refer to how your truck was optioned. Look for the 6XX and 7XX codes, those are for your front struts. Then plug your VIN in here and have a look...

6.2 ls3 GM performance crate engine

The LS3 is a Gen IV engine like your L94, all you need is a tune to get it running correctly. The camshaft in those crate motors is for cars, not trucks, if this were my project, I'd change that out to a truck specific camshaft. Probably have to use your oil pan, I think they come with Camaro...

07 yukon denali service 4wd light.

Codes may reside in the chassis modules and basic code readers usually only read from the engine computer, not the transmission, transfer case, anti-lock brakes, etc. 4WD is AWD as far as the computer is concerned, don't worry about that.

Updates on the latest aftermarket parts for a 2007 Tahoe requested

The Philips brand last longer than Sylvania IMO, I used to run the OE type but have been buying the bulbs in the GM/ACDelco boxes from either the local dealers or online wherever the price is right, Sometimes GMPartsDirect, Amazon or GM dealers selling on Ebay. They are brighter and last longer...

Updates on the latest aftermarket parts for a 2007 Tahoe requested

Keep your GM vehicle all GM. You'd be surprised at how bright new OE headlamps and bulbs are. Not Sylvanias and some Chicom headlamps, but genuine OE stuff. My kids, who love LEDs and HIDs, say my bulbs are the brightest regular lights they've ever seen on one of these trucks. I hear the...

Performance shops in Indian River/St Lucie county Florida

Nice area. Have friends over that way. Ever done business with Mrs. Peters Smokehouse? My wife and I like to dine once in a while at the Dolphin Bar and Shrimp House. Francis Langford used to own that if memory serves. My maternal grandfather liked it so much he used to drive up from...

2009 Yukon SLT with Factory Tow Package Cooling Upgrade

I don't remember, suggest that you check your RPO codes for these: KC4 - Engine Oi Cooler (I know you don't have it) KNP - Cooling System, Transmission, Heavy Duty K5L - Enhanced Cooling Package K5L includes the first two, an external transmission cooler and an engine oil cooler than goes into...

2017 Yukon - Blinking headlights, but alternator and 2 batteries working fine

The flickering lights are usually signs of a weak battery. Your amperage load when playing music is probably drawing the batteries down and the alternator takes more time than normal to recharge them. I would look into those Mechman I think they're called alternators. Lots of guys on here...

Performance shops in Indian River/St Lucie county Florida

Forgot about that guy, driven by their shop but never did business with them. While trying to help out the OP, I learned that the Custom Truck Shop on Village Green Drive is no more. They treated me right. My mobile mechanic parked his toolbox over at All Roads Truck & Auto Repair in Port...
