2012 Tahoe needs a new engine

Glad you did the right thing and looked at it yourself. Too many lazy losers and thieves out there.

Anyone replaced their unused spare tire due to age?

Waste of money, most folks haven't even run the hoist up and down since they bought it. I did this with my previous vehicles and actually used them. Thought about it with these trucks but they haven't even had to use their spare in 200K miles.

Anyone replaced their unused spare tire due to age?

I did. Bought a 4th spare from a 2015 Silverado, same tire and wheel as my other three. Now we had 4 to do burnouts and donuts with. So my 15 year old spare is somewhere in the garage and the 9 year old spare is under my truck. We run the hoist up and down twice a year, Independence Day and...

    Probably need new O2 sensors?

Decades ago, we figured out that changing oxygen sensors picked up a little power and bettered our mpgs as well. That was with 1 wire sensors so maybe it's still a thing. Keep us posted, again!

    Here's a weird AC issue

When this happened to me on two other cars, it turned out to be a fan relay that needed replacing.

2004 Denali gets hot when parked

After that, if the problem has not been identified, check your plugs, see if you have a blown head gasket or cracked head or something.

2004 Denali gets hot when parked

Did you replace these parts because of the problem or did it start afterwards? Did you use GM parts or aftermarket? If yours were mine I'd check the level and see if the system needed to be burped. Then I would take a closer look at the fan clutch.

Am I ok towing in regular drive mode?

You're right to not like it, the shifts feel funny when towing something that light. One only benefits from it when towing at 75% or more of the GCWR. For example, if your GCWR is 14,000 pounds and you are towing a 3,400 pound trailer with a truck that weighs 6,200 pounds is still under 10,500...

What’s wrong with those tires on the pictures?

You're right about that! I run 4-5 thousand mile intervals on our fleet for tires and oil.

    O2 sensor programming?

Only the price! LOL We know they are Densos but the non-GM Densos are different and may not play nice with the computer system.

What’s wrong with those tires on the pictures?

Those tires spent too much time up front at one time and wore like that. They are past the end of their service life, they are dry rotted out. Tires like that could come apart unexpectedly but I have seen much worse on the road. Most manufacturers only warrant them for the mileage they set or...

    K5L Fans on GMT800

15-80880 and 15780795 are ACDelco and GM OE part numbers for the same item. Both numbers on the same box. 15-80881 and 15780796 are ACDelco and GM OE part numbers for the same item. Again, both numbers on the same box.

Both numbers on the same box or bag.

    Help Please- Suspension RPO Code

I don't think the aftermarket has longer air shocks for a lifted suspension. Well, one that would last. If yours were mine I would call Custom Offsets and talk to someone on the cusp of new technology.

    2013 Denali poor acceleration

Solve the P0101 first and the others will likely take care of themselves. Don't use an aftermarket MAF, GM OE or ACDelco only if you don't want further headaches. With that many miles, it is probably time to replace or at least tighten your intake manifold to cinch up those gaskets. You can...

    O2 sensor programming?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, aftermarket sensors do not play nice with the computers on these trucks. Especially O2 sensors. This even includes Denso sensors that are NOT in a GM/ACDelco wrapper. There is a HO2S heater resistance learn reset that can be done. I didn't even know...

    Suburban towing a Suburban

2500s have leaf springs. Since you have highway gears, leave her in 4th for the run and use Tow/Haul of course. Use a trailer with a weight distribution hitch and anti-sway or a U-Haul with its surge brakes. Pick your favorite trailer brake controller if you're not using a U-Haul with the...

    Useless Information

You can change the battery in a reasonable amount of time without losing settings. Remove the negative cable first and attach it last. A short or disconnecting the battery improperly (causing shorts) or a dying battery causing shorts causes the settings to be lost in various modules. Mine has...
