Exactly right, the tech recorded as an employee at the dealership. Don't remember all the details but the explanation is on social media somewhere. It was a cashmere/cocoa interior and he was wearing gloves.
Welcome from Florida! Some of my fondest memories of North Carolina come from Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.
What kind of work at the dealership do you specialize in?
Replaced both last year. Not hard at all. 4 nuts to separate the top from the bottom, usual plugs and trim piece covers and don't forget to disconnect the seatbelt first.
I watched good videos on the seatbelt on Vehcor's website. The rest is pretty intuitive. Brought the seats into the...
Get a new factory switch and see. If you have an IPhone with the CarScanner app, you can pull the internal BCM codes with an OBDII adapter. Otherwise you need a more advanced bi-directional scan tool.
Haven't had my coffee yet, so my brain can't make sense of the command and status stuff.
Historically, a rotten egg smell is the sign of failed catalytic converters. Musty mold rotten smells can also come from mold growing on the evaporator inside the dash. When was the last time you replaced the cabin filter? The evaporator is right next to it. Sometimes critters crawl up in...
I did not see anything tonight. If I were wanting a workaround, I would set up Torque Pro to monitor the injector pulses. You can do an individual gauge for all eight cylinders or just the 4 AFM cylinders or just one of the AFM cylinders or one of each. Lots of ways to configure it.
I didn't think our front differentials were strong enough for lockers, is this a new product?
For 99.9% of situations, a front locker, while nice to have is not necessary. A G80 in the rear is nice and simple and there when you need it and disengages when you don't.
A 4x4 with a G80 and KO2...
Keep an eye on it.
Without a Tech-2, a good way to check the battery's state of charge is to put the meter to it in the morning after it has sat all night. Check the voltage and ambient temperature against a chart and that will give you a close approximate state of charge. GM considers a...
Hey Ken,
Well, how much are you planning to tow? I generally get a hitch that can pull anything within my capacity and I get the adjustable ones to handle the different coupler heights. I hate seeing a trailer nose down on a level truck!
These are the two that we use...
Keep us posted on how everything works out.
We run our trucks at the drags and don't like breaking things either. I skip the burnouts and just launch off idle. She's faster that way anyway.
The airbag light has to do with the sensor in your passenger seat. Or maybe someone is sitting in it and fidgeting around setting it on and off like a small adult or a big dog.
Get a sniffer and a scale to weigh the refrigerant. Use the sniffer to check for more leaks once there is freon in...
Thank you fellas! Well, it looks like the window is closing on getting this done before the fall. My helpers are overhauling the 2012s suspension and steering and brakes and rebuilding the engine in their 2008 Duramax. I may get the carrier in and finished up before then though. We shall see.
Well I was beginning to type in @BlackBearPerf until I got to the bottom of your post.
When I was in your shoes, I chose to take advantage of Justin's decades of tuning experience instead of using my daily driver as the guinea pig for my learning curve. My learning curve can be steep!
Since...
You might search LinkedIn for mechanics in your area that work at GM dealerships, or a facebook post or something like that.
The dash has to be moved into the service position so you can access the airbox to take it out and make the repairs. There's a lot of little processes but nothing overly...
When the voltage gets low, it creates all kinds of havoc with the computer systems. Some computers fail at 9 volts, some at 11.3 and so on. So then they're not all able to talk to one another and things go crazy.
If you make short runs and or the trucks sits a lot like mine, the alternator...
Not that I've seen. We use BTDieselworks like Dave mentioned or use Tech-2s or other bi-directional scan tools. The only "hidden feature" we have if memory serves is Afterblow to keep the condenser from getting moldy.
Your tires are about 1-1/2 inches taller than mine and yet our back ends are about the same height. Since your front is nearly the same height as the back on your truck, I would say that she is leveled. She may have spacers above or below the struts or use a longer strut assembly if she has...
