New oil pressure sensor went bad

Standard is a good substitute. Have used many times. There quality is better than Dorman, IMO.

Oil pressure drop after addition of OEM Oil Cooler?

Strange that it would happen "after the cooler lines installed". I have heard bad things about the AC Delco PF63. Yes, replace the screen and see what happens. I also had not thought about this and maybe I am over thinking, do you need a bit more oil for the lines capacity?

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

Right in front of the customers, I will work different switches and components on the dash. I showed this guy, but when I switched the hazard flasher with the t/s flasher and the t/s worked, he had to shut up. Then he went and got a flasher I had called about and set up. He plugged in to the t/s...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

This morning my next customer should at 8 and he "helped" me put front struts on his, new to the growing family, 2015 Chrysler Town & Country mini van. He was helping me to try and cut the time down and save. It was pretty straight forward and we had two new complete struts and a new upper...

    Utility Cart?

I used to have an open shelf tool cart but I found that during a job, I would fill it quickly. Organizing all bolts/nuts that I removed and laying in components that are removed. For that, anything that has 2 shelves and 4 casters would work, depending on size and ability to handle weight, like...

KNOCK SENSOR ISSUE ON BRAND NEW ENGINE 05 TAHOE

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. Did you replace the engine yourself? Recheck all your work and tensions and make a noise video and post here. Sounds like the "under powered" is because the existing knock sensors are doing their job. I would assume Fraser's Engines would want you to take to a...

Yes, all info was listed, eventually. Two different posts finally contained all of it. I responded to the first one.

    Brakes getting hot

I was not buying the "problem moving around" as the initial description seemed to be saying. Then you also share more detail, other than "could not get close". As always, I will respond to the info given. If you then get more detailed and share more info, then I can give a better opinion. By...

1999 Tahoe truck turns on when brake pedal is pressed

Yea, that does make sense. You have brake light circuitry routed thru the turn signal system, so the brake lights work when turn signals are on. What I should have caught, was you saying "truck turns on like I turned the key" but you did not say the engine turned over or started. Just that it...

    Bad Thermostats

I know that a radiator that is not dissipating heat properly can effect the a/c condenser but I have not heard of a a/c system effecting the cooling system. Not saying that someone here will school me about that, just have not ran in to that or heard that.

    No crank

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. Your explanation is very confusing. This is not a text to someone used to a run on mix of words. You need more detail and pics.

    Brakes getting hot

Yea, I have seen a smoking rotor or orange glow rotor pull in to my shops but could walk up to it, no problem. Seen lots of red hot rotors on NASCAR and they are still changing tires.

    Brakes getting hot

What @Doubeleive said. Brakes slow you/stop you because of friction and friction equals heat. I am not buying that the heat/smell problem is moving around on your truck. Plus, at the rear, consider that the smell/problem could be from parking brake problem. "Left front was so hot I couldn't...

Coil Replacement… They should be ashamed.

I thought of that when he said they had been replaced before, but old age skips my memory to respond on things like that.

If they broke on the manifold side, correct? Either replace a manifold or drill through and use through bolts, washers and nuts.

Coil Replacement… They should be ashamed.

Ok, so I am a little mixed up. You stated you have already "done it", referencing the 8 coils install. But now you say the coils are ordered and not installed yet. I am a trained tech and certified and know a little bit, but I don't think I can remove and replace all 8 coils in 20 minutes and...

    Another AC question

Other owners will know better about the 2015 to 2020 models and likely condenser problems. I do know this though. Humidity is harder on a/c systems than heat. Dry desert heat at 100 degrees will be easier on a/c than a 85-90 degree day in humidity, like in Florida. The condenser is where the...

Coil Replacement… They should be ashamed.

So, a hesitation warrants a diagnosis of one bad coil bud needs all 8 coils? So could a dirty throttle body. "They didn't even offer the option to replace 1". They said one was bad but we will only replace 8? No CEL and hesitation went away with the coils replacement?

Coil Replacement… They should be ashamed.

What was the reasoning that you had to replace all 8 coils? When I am working on vehicles here, I give an option but I would have recommended all 8 but would never say you "have" to. I do insist on a quality part or I will not replace it. I get them the part at my cost and have discounts at...

    I cannot believe it!

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-chevrolet-tahoe-23/ This just went for $17,600 at B.A.T. 62k miles on a 4.8 LS, that has an accident reported on CarFax. I think some of those bidders just do it to say they outbid someone and bought something at B.A.T. Unbelievable!
