You shouldn’t be losing fluid out of either vent tube unless the trans or transfer case is way overfilled. My suggestion is to check the levels of both before anything else.
Here’s a couple pics. The washers are real thick, maybe twice as thick as a regular washer. They’re also a bit bigger in diameter than the flanges on the bolt. All in all they’re a great product imo, like every single ARP product I’ve bought. I like the fact they seem like the clamping pressure...
I don’t remember. ARP’s website says 3/8” flange but I don’t think I ever figured what that meant. They looked like the heads and flanges were what I wanted.
This is what I used also^^^^^ 134-1102.
There a few that will fit depending on what finish- like chrome moly or black, bolt head 12pt or 6 pt or if you want studs with nuts. These are the black 6-pt bolts.
I replaced mine with ARP bolts on both my trucks snd I would on any LS based engine. No use taking chances, because once they break it’s a real pain to fix. I wouldn’t use anti seize, not even sure if it would work at that temp.
So the dipstick didn’t install the dipstick correctly? There’s no seal except an o-ring on the dipstick tube which he would have seen if it was missing when he installed it. Dipstick. :p
Got my hood back from paint and installed so I’m back in stealth mode with The Beast. Also tackled installing my new column shroud which turned into a pain but it’s done.
After I brought it home I decided to tackle the column shroud. What a giant PIA. No wonder I broke the other one when I removed it to replace the ignition switch without removing the steering wheel. I pulled the wheel this time and I still managed to break one of the clips on the new one. I...
It does- that’s the location I was trying to show you on the passenger side of the trans in those pics I just posted. If you look at the left pic there’s a short section of the tube still attached to the trans. The pic on the right just has the barb there. Zoom in if you don’t see them. But yes...
And my body guy had me come by today so he could match the fenders color for the hood. The hood will be ready in the morning. Kind of interesting- he took my paint code for pewter metallic U382 and showed me they provide him with 6-8 shades of that color on swatches so he could hold them up and...
I bought a new steering column shroud and painted it. The one that’s on there now keeps popping open on the left side ever since I swapped out the ignition switch a couple months ago. And there wasn’t a problem with that switch it turns out. I guess I messed up the shroud when I removed it.! You...
People drive like idiots when it comes to a lane ending. Gotta move over immediately instead of just driving until it’s about to end and then merge. Mostly because they have no clue how to merge. Even on freeway on-ramps. I love it when they do that, so I can get on it and move up 1/4 mile and...
There’s no vacuum lines going to any transmissions or transfer cases. Those are vent lines. Google will help you find pictures of the location on your trans but I can tell, you it’s probably on top so you might have to remove the crossmember and lower the back of the trans.
