My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

Yeah I laid on the floor on a rug and held my buddy and told him goodnight as the vet gave him his shot. I still cry thinking about it.

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

So sorry you’re going through this, Bob. I went through the slow version with my last dog and imo I’d rather it happen quickly. We went through several operations to remove tumors and every time he would have to go through the pain of that, the cone, the healing process and then a few months...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I’ve been waiting on a Cardone MC reservoir for 6 months, they’re backordered. I just want to replace my old stained one. So I found a cheap MC complete with the reservoir and plan on swapping the reservoir onto my MC without removing it and hopefully not need a flush. I have heard of someone...

    bad ABS module???

If you have leaking brake lines in one place, they’re probably rusted throughout and imo you’d be best to replace them but it’s not my money lol. I’d just be concerned that they might completely fail at a bad time. There’s guys here who have done the complete lines, but I haven’t. We don’t get...

Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

I use a Femco like I stated earlier, they’re a bit different design. BTW I’m not sure this is the right thread for the LS, I’d have to double-check. I don’t remember the exact model...

Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

No adapter on mine, I did get the one with a 90* fitting since the drain plug is vertical instead of horizontal, so the hose points straight down. Edit: I don’t recall my drain plug being recessed ? Pics of yours please.

Rocket Man's 02 Denali Build Thread AKA "THE BEAST"

I might but in all reality I just use it to run for groceries and I’m in the store for a short time plus the dog is in there. He probably wouldn’t bite but just having a big wolf dog scares most people lol.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I too use nothing but LubeLocker for anything they make gaskets for. I’m using their trans pan and diff gaskets right now. Exceptional quality, reusable etc. Never had a leak. Just need to follow torque specs and make sure nothings bent or warped.

Rocket Man's 02 Denali Build Thread AKA "THE BEAST"

I wired in the starter relay ground wire interrupt today to a stealth momentary switch in the cab. The under hood wiring is inside the factory loom. The interior wiring is a big fat secret.;) I just have to remember to hold down the interrupt while I start it. Peace of mind to me. Car thefts in...

    Rear main Seal

Dorman is probably getting better, who knows. But I’ll stick with my criteria- if it’s easy to get to in case it fails, or if it’s a better design and is easy to access also, I’ll consider it. But if it’s in a place that requires a lot of labor to access it, never Dorman for me. I’ve been burned...

    Rear main Seal

AC Delco and other brands sell the same setup with the seal already installed in the cover. That’s all I’ve ever used. If you trust Dorman, then you trust Dorman. I don’t. They’re the cheapest aftermarket brand there is, and they have a high failure rate. Ask anybody on this forum. I’m sure as...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I use similar ones for my Big 3 for the negative side and my amp wire on the positive but mine have bolts on the secondary positions instead of the studs that stick out with nuts on them. Looks cleaner and easier to use imo...

    bad ABS module???

There is no emergency brake light, it’s a brake light telling you there is something wrong with your brakes. Sounds to me like you have major brake failure happening, thus the stabilitrack, traction control and ABS are all disabled. Find out what the main issue with the brakes is, fix that and...

    2002 Tahoe Electrical Issues

Have you tried a new battery? Sometimes they text good but cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. I didn’t see any mention of battery.

Agreed, Gates is great stuff- water pumps, hoses, belts.

Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

It’s easier for me. For one, I don’t use DEF, I use gallon milk jugs. An oil change doesn’t fit into one gallon, it’s 5 quarts. Plus the oil from the filter drains into the same drain pan after I poke it with an awl a few times, and when I unscrew it more drips out, into the pan. I got it down...

Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

I fill my Blackstone Labs oil analysis containers precisely. It flows pretty slow, it’s easy to control. Just unscrew a little bit and it closes. A gallon jug would be easy but I’m not gonna lay there and wait to fill a jug. That’s why I use a drain pan and just leave it draining after I get the...

Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

I use the Femco which utilizes a drain hose that pushes in a plunger when it’s time to drain the oil. Even if you remove the dust cap, oil can’t flow until you screw the drain hose on which is safer imo. Also, the hose extends downward to direct the oil into the drain pan/ bucket. I went with...

Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

I’ve used a similar one for years. I pop the hose onto mine that starts the drain process and poke the filter with an awl and walk away for awhile. When I come back, both the block and filter are both drained with no mess.

Newbie looking to make my 02 Yukon my personality.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. I’d say you can check out my build thread on my 02 Denali but mines geared toward a lowered street version as opposed to an over lander. I’m running a Whipple and a cam for power adders. If you’d like to check it out, the link is in my signature at the bottom of...

    Water spot removal solved

The water here leaves water spots. It’s terrible if left to dry by itself. What I said is if you towel dry your vehicle after washing, it doesn’t have a chance to do it. I use the big blade squeegee to remove a big part of the water so I don’t need to use as many of the big microfiber towels. I...

    Rear main Seal

I’m glad it worked out for you. My experience with Dorman has been hit or miss and considering how hard it is to replace a rear main, I won’t be taking a chance myself. My OEM was in for 150k and still not leaking when I replaced it with the same as preventive maintenance.

    Rear main Seal

I would not install a Dorman part in any location that isn't easily accessible because they are cheap and will fail quickly in most instances. Definitely would not use their rear main seal- you are basically doing $1000 worth of labor to replace an inexpensive part. Use the best part possible. I...
