I know they make cassette bluetooth adapters, not sure how well they work. I think you can also add one to the auxiliary port on the back of the unit also.
Do you have the ability to clear the DTC's? If so, id assume you did that and its returning? The test procedure for that DTC according to my alldatadiy is kinda complicated or I'd post screenshots of it. I'm not sure what the going rate for a subscription is but I wouldn't be without it if I'm...
I actually figured this out using a new t connector and an old male end, messing around with them on my workbench. I noticed if I squeezed the tabs and then turned the t, those tabs magically stayed indented. Then all I had to do was pull.
Sounds like it’s the normal variable voltage regulator system in these. GM did that in order to lighten the load on the engine when the alternator isn’t needed, in order to increase gas mileage by a little bit.
I found if you squeeze the tabs and then twist the t, it will hold the tabs in and you can pull it off. You might have to twist back and forth a few times.
Yep, Ben Tyler, the guy who created the AutoSync and figured out how to flash the GM BCM’s, is a friggin genius imo. He also was a co-creator of the EFI Live Autocal but branched out on his own and created BT Dieselworks and his own line of products. The Autocal is complicated as far as doing a...
And after I wrapped that up nice and tidy, I realized that starter relay ground wire is the perfect way to add anti-thievery to my truck. Cut that wire, run both ends up to a hidden momentary switch in the cab that is easily reachable. And then I’d hold down on the switch while turning the key...
It’s right there, version 2.0 and up which is you. I remember reading up on his product when I was looking at buying the Autosync and opted to flash the BCM with my Autocal instead so I’m familiar with the instructions. His seemed less confusing than Autocal’s instructions which make my head...
I understand completely, it’s because he’s a fckin d*ck. If you go look at all of his posts , it’s all asking for help. And he’s received plenty of help from members of this forum. No contributing though, he hasn’t helped a single other member. And in this thread his true personality shined. I...
I stopped by my friends body shop and talked about the failing clear coat on my hood. He told me when I had that painted originally he was doing wholesale work only and the paints he was using weren’t real high quality. He is doing private party work now, he laid off his employees and is...
Oh man so sorry to hear that Bob. I went through cancer with my last dog, he had surgeries to remove it but in the end the cancer won. It’s so ******* a person as well as our fur buddy. I’m glad to hear he’s comfortable, he’s a lucky dog to have such good people.
And the final fix. I rerouted some of the lines during the repair so it stays up off the coils. I used some fabric electrical tape to wrap the wire bundle and then split woven loom over that to protect it.
And as I was walking my dog right afterwards I saw this big weird cloud that I swear...
I was just thinking about that wiring repair. I really consider myself lucky that I found that spot. Most of that harness is inaccessible, it runs between the firewall and bell housing. I started with trying to go from the NSS on the transmission forward but I could only get barely past the...
Nothing works to remove the chrome without destroying the plastic. Best method is to just sand it to rough it up a bit and use etching primer. I tried every method mentioned including muriatic acid which works over several days but you have to have a tank big enough to submerge the grill. I...
I fixed my no crank issue, found a spot on the wiring harness under the hood that’s been rubbing on a coil. It just happened to wear through both the ground and crank voltage wires for the starter relay. It wasn’t even really noticeable, I just saw the harness laying on the coil so I lifted it...
Got it. I found a place on the harness under the hood that was laying on a coil so I used a mirror to look up and saw a worn-off spot with exposed wiring. It was hard to see and even harder to access. There were 2 wires worn through- one was black and one was what looked like it might have been...
Can you still get under the vehicle from the side or do you need to go from either end? I’m working on my neutral safety switch on mine right now and chasing a wire along the frame rail up to the front and looking at those I don’t see them helping me much. I’m getting too old too. It doesn’t...
I understand yours isn’t AWD but the result is the same. My point is a good tow truck driver knows how to get a vehicle out of a spot even if none of the wheels turn. Mine was in a parking spot with vehicles on both sides. He did this while his was at almost a 90* angle at the rear of my truck...
It’s getting crank power at the neutral switch. I hooked a long test wire to the yellow and ran it into the cab so I could hit the starter while I looked at the test light. Its getting the voltage there so the switch is doing it’s thing but the crank voltage isn’t getting to the starter relay in...
I’m thinking about cutting the wires in the harness at the NSS and running them up to a momentary switch in the cab so that switch would have to be held down while I turn the key to the start position to start the truck. Sort of like a fuel pump cutoff switch, a method to avoid thievery of my...
