I remember this but I forget what the conditions were beforehand. I've heard of it happening when someone shuts off a hot engine, like at a rest area on the interstate, without letting it cool down a while first. I'm kicking myself for not doing this when I had my heads off my L94 a few years ago.
I had a minute, so I went out of the garage and laid underneath it for a second and took some measurements and pictures. The pipes coming from the headers into the Y, are 3 inch and round. And the exhaust behind the Y is 4 inch, also round.
The plug is on the passenger side of the transmission, on top of the pan casting in the case. It has a removable plug that is designed to accommodate a seal and the end of the dipstick tube.
On another topic, does anyone know if the 6L90 in the 2018 Suburban 3500HD has the thermostat for the oil cooler? Is so, can I use the same Transgo kit to bypass it as they use in the 6L80's?

Yes, I plan to do the dipstick mod in the fall when I can stand being in the garage for more than 15 minutes. :p I have all of the parts in my Scamazon shopping cart.
On the lift, I plan to keep mine stock height but may upgrade the shocks. I would think that lift kits for 3500 SRW pickups...
You need a good bidirectional scanner to see the commanded vs actual on the fans to diagnose this. But at least you know the fans are capable of full duty cycle operation. The usual suspect here is the coolant temp sensor. Even if it seems to be displaying the correct temperature, it may be off...
I have an '07 Yukon XL Denali with 247K on the clock. It's been a phenomenally reliable truck, but it has taken some careful observation and well-timed maintenance work to keep it that way. The good news: I think 90% of the midlife catch up maintenance has been done.
That oil leak is very...
Sorry I missed all of the fun. Y'all do what you want with YOUR 6.2's. Mine both get only premium fuel, and that's the way it will stay. Plenty of videos on YouTube of blown pistons on 6.2's run on 87. I understand exactly how the knock sensors and timing tables work together to reduce the risk...
I agree with the others here that this is a highly suspect estimate. For what it’s worth, I have 247K on the original autoride front shocks on my 2007 Yukon XL Denali. They’ve had a slight seep from the top seal for at least the last 50K, and every year at inspection time the shop mentions it...
Had to work fast because I only had 30 minutes, so these are the only pics I got. For anyone who has to change out the larger battery on the pax side back by the firewall, the trick is to flip it on its side counterclockwise (facing it from the front of the truck) before taking it out so it will...
