That's pretty normal... Try a different oil filter brand maybe - like a wix, they have
higher flow rates than most - even the acdelco's.
Also, make sure you have good quality clean synthetic 5w30
20 psi is ok at hot idle... I'd be more concerned if your oil pressure was only 30 ish
at 2,000...
You are pretty normal there... The IAT should drop down as soon as you start moving...
Mine hang around 110-120 sitting still on a 90* day... So about 20* over ambient...
You might want to check how your air filter box is sealed ( or lack of) to the inner fender where
it gets it cooler air from...
I have looked into fan tuning w HPT.. On the trucks/suvs there is NO SPEED Override option
The fans turn OFF at about 45ish mph... really no matter what you do..
I don't have issues with it running hot until I'm pulling my large travel trailer
at about 55 mph. And that will tend to up my ECT...
I suck at trying to post videos and pics... The one app that I used for this website went
to crap a while ago.. And my smart phone is old enough that it isn't smart anymore... Maybe
one of my kids can help me !!!
I did mount the derale cooler behind the bumper with the fan .. I just use a toggle switch
that I put at the center console to turn it on .. I really only need it when towing.. And
since i pulled the supercharger everything runs a little cooler anyway
I'll give gwatney a call for sure... Yeah it's very different idle so maybe it's just the tune
I've been on the HPT forums and such and gotten it better than the crappy tune I paid $$ for,
but not nearly where I thought it would be... Thanks for the suggestions
I've been jacking around with the HPT for 2-3 weeks straight, trying to smooth out
my idle.. It runs pretty strong (i think).. But it's really rough/choppy under 1000 rpms.
I have to bring idle up to 800 for it to really idle OK..
Remember, I took off the EForce supercharger and installed...
I did a dod delete cam this spring.. Retaining VVT. The specs are in my Signature.
I'm still learning and tweaking the HP Tuners to get it to behave at idle...
But my question is: Did your new cam make your exhaust a lot louder ????
My Yukon now sounds like a cammed up racecar... It's very...
You may have a weak fuel pump.. It's a "module" assembly... So when you
take it back to your shop for the fuel leak issue, I'd have them install a high quality
fuel pump module assembly... This will prob kill 2 birds w 1 stone
BTW: use a delphi, gm, acdelco OE quality fuel pump or you'll be...
Please report back when you get the work all done. I used the VVT truck stage 1 cam from
gwatney as well... My base idle is pretty rough... i didn't really think a cam this small would
"sound" lumpy at all.. Maybe I did something wrong, so I'm curious about others' experiences with it
I did that fix to a friends 09 gmc 5.3 L and it did work.. I just used
a cheap push rod from the parts store.. You'll need a pushrod that is slightly
smaller in diameter from the stock one to fit into the DOD Oil Hole.. I put antisieze on it and had to pull it out with a vice grip, but it did...
There have been counterfeit plugs on the market.. But if your shop got them locally then they are more than likely OK
I just went thru a misfire that went from Cyl #2 to a random P0300 after a dod delete cam swap.
It ended up being a bad coil pack - which is very unusual... My engine has...
I never got that good bone stock with the DOD working... Maybe 17.5- 18 at best
You are doing something right !!! The 6.2 in awd 6K plus truck !! You
are doing fabulous
How did your spark plugs look ???? If you did wires, you prob need plugs too.... If
that's the cause..
It could be a DOD lifter failing (or the VLOM) as well
just read you did plugs a month ago Which plugs did you use and where did
you get them from (yes, it could make a big difference) ??
Can you send that file please ?? I sure would appreciate it. I sent you my email address
in a private conversation thru this forum on tuesday. Thank you !!
