Ugly time with ABS Automated Bleed procedure via Tech 2 on my 2013 Escalade

Thanks! I have been an Industrial Maintenance Technician for 25 some odd years, and a gearhead for longer. I am very good at what I do. However...I am human. And screw up. :p I am not here to try to put on airs and be better than anybody. I am here to relay what I have done, swap lies with you...

New guy with a 2013 Escalade ESV Premium AWD

This past weekend, I submerged myself in the Escalade's braking system. She stopped just fine, actually quite well. I wanted to clean and inspect everything, and replace the hardware. My intent was to disassemble the front and rear brakes, replace hardware, and replace all things associated with...

Ugly time with ABS Automated Bleed procedure via Tech 2 on my 2013 Escalade

Thanks. That is my intent. If the master cylinder goes south, I will replace it. I bought a Motive Power pressure bleeder years ago and have never looked back.

Ugly time with ABS Automated Bleed procedure via Tech 2 on my 2013 Escalade

I will read your thread tonight at work! Good to know on the caliper rebuild parts. As of the moment, none of mine leak, so I am leaving the calipers alone. I replaced pins, bushings, slider pads, etc...and added drag reduction clips. I will document all this in my thread in General Discussion...

Ugly time with ABS Automated Bleed procedure via Tech 2 on my 2013 Escalade

Hello Gentlemen, This past weekend, I submerged myself in the brake system of my 2013 Escalade ESV. She stopped just fine, but I wanted to clean and inspect the brakes. As well, bleed the ABS now that I had a Tech 2. Before any of this, I wanted to deal with the bleeder screw issues in the...

Finally Jumped on the Oil Catch Can Bandwagon

Thanks. I had believed that since my Escalade was a 2013, and had the updated driver's side valve cover, I would be OK. However, after reading the thread, I am just fine spending a little money for a catch can. That and having AFM disabled in the Black Bear Tune.

Finally Jumped on the Oil Catch Can Bandwagon

Alright, you guys have me convinced. I have ordered one of the Amazon catch cans and will install it on my 2013 Escalade when it arrives. Thanks!

6L80 Sonnax ZIP Kit, Pressure Switch rebuild, remote filter install, and fluid flush in 2013 Escalade ESV (Pic heavy)

Heck yeah! Thank you! This beats buying it by the gallon from Amazon.

6L80 Sonnax ZIP Kit, Pressure Switch rebuild, remote filter install, and fluid flush in 2013 Escalade ESV (Pic heavy)

Thank you for the info. I will go to my local O’Reilly and get a couple filters. That was one of the first things I did. The transfer case has just over 1.5qts of the same synthetic Dexron-VI as the transmission. Next oil change, I am changing the transfer case fluid again, just for good...

6L80 Sonnax ZIP Kit, Pressure Switch rebuild, remote filter install, and fluid flush in 2013 Escalade ESV (Pic heavy)

Sweet! I like that. Where are you buying the hydraulic filter? Internet or brick and mortar store? Thanks!

6L80 Sonnax ZIP Kit, Pressure Switch rebuild, remote filter install, and fluid flush in 2013 Escalade ESV (Pic heavy)

Now that the remote filter had been installed, I could flush the fluid. This was definitely one of my main goals. I am a firm believer in fresh, clean ATF in an automatic transmission. The fluid in all my automatics gets changed every 2 years, whether it likes it or not. The remote spin on...

6L80 Sonnax ZIP Kit, Pressure Switch rebuild, remote filter install, and fluid flush in 2013 Escalade ESV (Pic heavy)

Parts needed for this conversion: WIX 51515 oil filter (NAPA Gold 1515 also works), B&M V1A transmission oil filter, well used remote filter mount and hardware, 3/8" OD metal fuel line bent for this application, Derale 3/8" ID transmission cooling hose, fuel injection style hose clamps. Notes...

6L80 Sonnax ZIP Kit, Pressure Switch rebuild, remote filter install, and fluid flush in 2013 Escalade ESV (Pic heavy)

Upon returning home from the wasted trip to the dealership for 'paint touchup', I got to work on installing the remote spin on transmission filter. I am big fan of these, and have them on all of my automatic transmission vehicles. Spin on filter gets changed yearly, pan filter every 5 years. It...

Replace spark plugs and wires, doing #8 the harder way, and then the hard way on a 2013 Escalade 6.2L

That makes sense. I want to think that they were original, but the gaps were just too tight. Thanks!

Replace spark plugs and wires, doing #8 the harder way, and then the hard way on a 2013 Escalade 6.2L

It was awhile before I started the engine, because I had to drain and refill the radiator. Once done, I started the engine and let it run to bring the cooling system up to temp. Engine started just fine. However, it seemed to me like it 'shook' more than normal at idle. Specifically, I could see...

Clean MAF and throttle body, then Tech 2 relearn idle on 2013 Escalade 6.2L

Heheheheh... I was referring more to the super cars passing you. In my neck of the woods, there are no super cars. Have to go an hour either direction to Charlotte NC or Greenville SC for any money like that. My 928S has a timing belt. A 7 foot long timing belt. :p

Clean MAF and throttle body, then Tech 2 relearn idle on 2013 Escalade 6.2L

Wow...I have never been in anything like that. I am low class trash. Closest I came was chasing a Coyote Mustang down I-85 one night in my Porsche 928S doing 130+. He completely left me, but it was fun.

Replace spark plugs and wires, doing #8 the harder way, and then the hard way on a 2013 Escalade 6.2L

Truth be told, I pulled all four spark plugs and wires from the passenger's side before I replaced any. I wanted to get a photo comparing old to new. Spark plugs and wires from the passenger's side, new at front, then starting with #2 and going to #8 at back. New at left, starting with #2...
