    New Exhaust Manifold Advice

Might be better to show, than tell here - pics? That said, unless your engine spends most of its time OVER 4000RpM, negligible additional power (stopwatch might not care) from 'shorty' headers.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

Do you know the difference between spray-guided direct injection and port injection, specifically the one that allows engine makers to increase the static compression ratio? To play your own devil's advocate, IFF the ecm recognizes higher octane fuel - it damnt well should - using higher octane...

    AC Cooling

I also tried this back when I had a mech clutch fan, except I raised the idle in Drive / Reverse with AC ON all the way to 725RpM, which was enough to keep the AC ACing. Still prefer the electrical fan update; my idle in Drive / Reverse with AC ON is at 625RpM, pretty chilly in here.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

Always thought the reason for the censorship was that we were all a bunch of children, and we had to protect our parents from finding out vulgarity is par for the course for us? Was that not the reason? 'cause if it's not, then what's the purpose of this censorship bullschidt? Back on topic...

    2017 Escalade/Denali L86 "requires" 93 octane - your experience?

So, in other words, if you can't intimidate or negotiate your way out of a ripoff, or call bullschidt on price gouging, it's a premium markup? Then again, the number of people who have replaced every Tahoe / Suburban body panel & light fixture with Escalade accoutrement is likely outnumbered by...

    AC Cooling

At what RpM do you idle in Drive? When I had my pcm tuned, I upped my idle from 525RpM to 625RpM. AC works a lil better stuck in traffic jams.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

TECHNICALLY, it does not NEED 91 or 93 octane fuel. That said, trying to save money by using 87 instead of 91 or 93 is a VERY BAD IDEA. IFF you MUST use 87, drive like a total wuss, to minimize engine load; avoid playing or working hard with the engine. Also helps if you are traveling as light...

Cat delete and O2 sensor work around?

Best, most permanent solution is to tune pcm to ignore rear O2s. Deleting the catalytic converters does not affect the pre-cat O2s.

Short person driver having a problem......remedy?

    1. Should have been more precise. Should have said: "If the Tahoe lacks a telescoping wheel, you can bet the Escalade HAS a telescoping wheel." 2. Saying, if the thread starter - or anyone else - wants to badly enough, that the Denali's / Escalade's telescoping assembly can be transplanted to...

Short person driver having a problem......remedy?

If the Tahoe lacks a telescoping wheel, you can bet the Escalade does. I'd not be surprised if the telescoping assembly can be made to work in the Tahoe.

    Another 6.2 failure

The radiator is reverse flow (top to bottom), and the thermostat is on the inlet (not the outlet), but those diagrams should show, like the ones I linked, that the coolant goes through the block, then the heads.

    Another 6.2 failure

Gen3 Gen4 & Gen5 GM Small Block V8s are NOT reverse cooled. The '92-'97 LT1 / L99 / LT4 are reverse cooled, but not the 'LS' or 'LT' engine families after 1997. https://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125217&p=2144013&viewfull=1#post2144013...

Short person driver having a problem......remedy?

A solution that would be both 'aftermarket' AND GM OE (which is what I tend to prefer) would be: Is it possible to make GM OE adjustable pedals workable?

    0-60 in 14 seconds?

I preach the gospel of thorough tunes by reputable tuners. Y'all haven't a CLUE what you're missing ... That said, never a bad idea to change the two pre-cat O2 sensors, clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner ... maybe pull a sparkplug on either side of the engine to see if a tuneup is needed?

What's actually included with the Max Trailering Package?

With the 6-speeds, 3.42 was the Tow Pack axle gear for 1500 suvs, 3.73 for 1500 pickup trucks, 4.10 for 2500 & up.

    AFM/DOD Questions

Damn skippy, a THOROUGH tune can adjust that. Not a plug-in, or a handheld / canned tuna. Remember that, especially before the engine stop-start feature, GM has always been trying to improve their CAFE MpG scores. GM literally cannot afford to raise idle from 525RpM to 650RpM. No individual...

    0-60 in 14 seconds?

When he says 'tuned', if you actually want your problems solved during the tune, it'll need to be one of those tuners that sits next to you with his laptop hooked up to your car so he can look at the realtime data and figure out what is not working properly. Otherwise take it to a mechanic who...

How many miles are too many for you when you buy used?

Given that 100k highway miles are VERY different from 100k rush hour traffic miles, yeah, it's mental alright. Fully appreciating that it's both harder to measure, and harder to trust the measurement, starting to think that average fuel economy over a vehicle's lifetime is a better indication...

    AFM/DOD Questions

Some people are only beyond help because they do not understand why (and/or how) things work or don't work. Part of a thorough proper 'tune', includes fixing the checksums and CVNs so that when the gov't hooks up to a vehicle, the only thing they see is unaltered checksums and CVNs, leaving the...

    Engine failures

Changing out your oil more often than every 7500 miles would extend the life of the engine, though no one can say by exactly how much. In your very specific use case of over 30,000 miles a year, I'd STILL change the oil every 6,000 miles, no later. Remember that GM's Oil Life Monitor is NOT...
