    And you probably already have this covered, but the LQ4 engine by definition uses a 24x reluctor on the crankshaft. Your 2008 system requires a 58x reluctor. That must be changed on the LQ4 crankshaft.

    That TSB outlines the procedure to determine if a non-factory calibration is presently installed on a gas engine equipped vehicle. There is no way to determine if a tune was installed and then put back to factory. 2007.5+ diesel trucks do have flash history tracking however.

    I can almost guarantee that is the problem as the cover prevents the latching portion of the pin "tray" from allowing the pin to retreat. In the same token, it cannot move far enough for the pin to clear this latch and fully seat.
