I'm putting the 4" BDS kit on my '15 Tahoe next month, BUT...
I've done a fair amount of research and it sounds like we are on a similar page.
I believe that +4" is exactly where the Tahoe/Yukon needs to sit for a solid overlanding vehicle.
I currently am running Fox 2.0 - out of the box +2"...
I'm looking at BDS myself. They offer a 4" kit and 6" kit with coilover option or basic kit with spacers on your OE front coil with extended strut. I'm pretty sure you can run an OE wheel as well with the BDS kit. Not sure if you're looking at new wheels to but maybe something to think about...
Just spoke with the Chevy service advisor.
Diagnosis: Leaking high pressure fuel pump
Remedy: Replace fuel pump & full oil change (fuel leaking into engine oil)
Costs: Covered by my extended warranty (YES!!!)
@nglauer - Hope this helps you make a decision on what you want to do with your...
YES! Your description is EXACTLY what my Tahoe has been doing the past 2 months. Whenever I sit in idle for too long (@ the bank, line at McDs etc) the check engine comes on sometime that day.
I have 95,400 miles on my 2015 LTZ and and extended warranty. Taking the kiddos to school/daycare...
My 2015 LTZ has been throwing check engine light for the past 2 months, on and off, on and off. I was having a hard time getting in for it to be checked and then had to cancel my appointment due to COVID at my kids' school.
I got tired of worrying about what the light meant so bought a...
They are mentioning the "WITHOUT MAGNERIDE CONTROL" so that people do not purchase an incorrect strut/coil assembly to replace their magneride struts. The magneride struts literally "plug in" at the top of the strut assembly. I'm guessing this is where your resistors may be installed...
FYI -...
eBay and Amazon have worked for me on parts. I've purchased ball joints, rear pilot arm rest plastic cap cover, Fox 2.0 front coilover assembly, vinyl for wrapping, fog LEDs.
There are more than one online GM parts companies. If you google GM parts you should get several options. Each has...
In certain sizes the Ridge Grappler comes in a passenger tire as well as the regular LT. The passenger is lighter and has a higher speed rating as I recall - less ply I believe is the trade off and perhaps a few mm of tread depth...
@DirtyBlackHoe has the right idea - IMO.
My '15 Tahoe LTZ w/Magneride shocks was purchased at 36k miles and did NOT pass ME state inspection due to leaking front shock. Under the Certified Pre-Owned purchase agreement I was able to get Chevy to replace the single front MRC. However, at 54k...
Maybe a photo of my front skid plate would help too...
Looking back at the earlier posts on this thread; it seems we have the plastic front skid plate and 2 different AL (aluminum) front skids in the mix. This is the one that I'm running and I DID purchase through the dealership and it...
It has taken me some digging and "remembering" my own research to find you an answer to this one. For some reason, Chevy was a real pain in providing me a straight answer. when I was working to source this part. I actually ended up ordering 2 of those plastic skid plates before I got the...
Hey!
Thanks for checking back in. I'm still not sure about that front skid plate needing the z71 front fascia. I was up under there (truck not off the ground unfortunately) and I located the rear 2 connection points. Those connect to the main frame of the vehicle. For the front connections...
I haven't gotten that question yet, but very good pickup!
The short and simple answer is - PRICE.
This was a "new car" purchase for my family and an upgrade for me from my Honda Pilot. I grew up in CO and have always wanted a great overlanding rig. A new vehicle purchase was spurred by the...
Is this an RST? Which trim are you building on?
Could you please share some more regarding what you did to the grille, front emblem, and front headlights to achieve the blackout. A close up of those headlights would be great - they look sweet!
And the taillights - what did you do there...
I've used a local vinyl wrap service to "delete" almost all of the chrome trim on my LTZ (plenty there...)
I live in Maine so I don't know what kind of services may be in your local area. My wrap guy has included a 3yr guarantee on his work. I believe I paid around $300 for all of the vinyl...
Thank you!
Yes, the idea was to take my "soccer-mom" standard LTZ and modify to exceed the performance of z71 Midnight edition on and off road. Help me and the family get around some of the rougher spots in Maine on our adventures.
I still have the side steps to address (looking at these from...
The following website gives you a really nice look at the different OEM wheel options.
https://www.hubcaphaven.com/c/343/chevrolet_tahoe_wheels_rims.html
Don't forget that your Tahoe can take any wheel that a 1500 Silverado will have. Personally, I am running the black 20" 5 spoke wheels...
I'm sorry, but I CANNOT 100% verify that the z71 skid plate will fit the stock 2020 LS front bumper.
I would imagine that it would fit your vehicle fine as I am under the impression that the z71 skid plate attaches directly to the framing and NOT the front fascia.
I ordered my skid plates...
Xineering GM Shock Sims - electronic circuit "delete" for changing to passive rear suspension. Allows you to bypass the rear air shocks. GREAT COMPANY!
WELCOME!
I have a '15 Tahoe LTZ and wanted more off-road capability via increased clearance and tire upgrade, maintain a fairly comfortable ride and still have my 5 yo daughter be able to get in & out of the rig safely :)
So...w/ the LTZ I have the magneride suspension and that opened a whole...
I actually read a member's post that stated he simply "unplugged" the magnaride and let the OE shocks go passive. I'm guessing without the MRC delete circuits he was getting a service message. However, he stated the ride was incredibly improved over the MRC control. He had purchased Fox...
