Thanks man. Yeah the cue leaves alot to be desired for sure. I know why they ditched it now! haha. There are a few things I miss from the Burb/Yukon platform but the love of this vs the missing of the little things still keep me planted here now. Yeah the 6.2 is a game changer, I have had 2...
Damn, MDX is a bit small for sure, but the better half got something good and you did to then. Denali is the way to go for sure, the 6.2 pulls epic for sure. Just put the foot in it and it pulls instead of downshifting. Wait till you haul with it! Its a great experience for sure. Congrats to...
Yeah, the caddy doesn't get it like the GMC and Chevy twins... It's got the provisions for it electrically but it's fine. Yeah your Sierra will do the job for sure.
Congrats to yall too, yeah I think the only thing I will miss is the trailer brake controller. But I will add a Redarc to this one and it will be fine. The adjustability of the seats is down right amazing...
Thanks,
Honestly the only issue it had was 73k lifters started to make noise, replaced them before wiping a cam out, 2 front MRC struts, and general maintenance. Traded in at 97700 and still good as ever.
After years of wanting one, I finally found one for a good price and clean up to my standards. I grabbed a 17 platinum. Yes I know the 8 speed woes but this one shifts like butter at 70k, and the carfax shows fluid changes and all good service records at dealers only.
Loved the burb for sure...
The MRC suspension on these rigs leaves something to be desired for ride quality for sure. I had many rams before going GM products, every one of them had a major issue before 100k miles, transmissions, rear axles blowing up, complete brake failure, lifter failure... The plush ride and...
Almost sounds like limp mode but would illuminate a code for sure... Could be a sensor starting to fail, something like MAF sensor can do weird things, plugged air filter or exhaust can do it also. It makes me think that whatever is wrong is not long term enough for a CEL to throw, maybe a few...
Id love to know what went wrong with that one that was in there. Thats the first failure of a 10 speed with low miles that I have heard of. Damn man sorry to hear it.
They did, I remove mine to look cleaner.
The things it shows is LTZ, grill is specific to LTZ and chrome mirror caps. LT have the honeycomb grille. MRC and air suspension on rear should be the final things to really make it cemented as LTZ. Mine is like that with no DVD screen in headliner...
Sorry, but Union work in the auto industry has been a sham. Abolish the unions and have right to work states be able to handle their business. But the biggest sham is CEO getting record paychecks while no compensation for the rest of the company. If the company does good for the year, bonus...
So what all on the front of the motor had to be swapped, I see a nice pile of parts on the bench there.
My first guess is AC compressor, water pump housing etc.
Yeah the intake vac used to run the brake booster on prior models. I think they went to the vac pump for efficiency reasons maybe who knows... some engineer sitting there decided he needed something to work on.
Look forward to the outcome on this. Giving some of us a good idea for life after...
Since the motor doesnt have a vac pump on it, and your old 5.3 did, I would suggest doing hydroboost brake booster upgrade and retaining the power steering pump if it will clear the rack thats in there. Just a thought.
The compressor and alternator and waterpump should be clear.
The torque curves these motors love to pull at is 2-2500 rpm. Just the normal across the board with all the options. 5.3-6.2L the 4.8 wants some more RPM up to 2800 in my exp.
Spot on bro!
Forgot about the 14 bolt in some of the eskys...
I could only imagine 3.73 gears how much better it would be... but know how bad the gas mileage would tank with my 80 mph freeway flying.
My 15 with the Thermostat reprogram on the trans keeps the temps in the 160s to 170s range...
intheburbs hit alot of nails on the head... Thanks swathdiver I guess I have been around the block a few times! :biggun:
I tow frequently in my 1500. The most strained tow pig was 03 Tahoe with the 4.8 and then my 12 Burb with a 3.08 gear and no max trailering. The 2011 6.2 Denali xl with 3.08...
