It is flex fuel. Not sure on fuel trims. I’ll bust the scanner out tomorrow and look and update you guys.
I thought it was running lean due to these three things I saw on on the plugs:
Some has oil on the threads, some had brick red ash on the tips. And some had white ash on the tips.
8th...
Used a scan tool. I got one. No codes. Runs fine. Cleaned the sensor, cleaned the throttle body. Not sure what else. I use e85. I doubt injectors but maybe?
I drive a 2014 Tahoe with 175,000 miles on it. It was making a weird rattling noise when it was in V4 mode around 25 miles an hour so I got the plug-in disabler off Amazon and it stopped the noise and it keeps the vehicle and V8 mode so it can’t go into V4 mode to make the noise.
Anyway...
I will add that if you’re not sure about doing
Your plugs and wires. Do it. It’s easy. Just do one at a time. I don’t think you can even really mess the firing order up on thess LS engines bc they have individual coil packs. You’d have to really not be paying attention to mess this job up.
I didn’t use any antisieze. Or anything on threads. They came out easy and went in easy. I turned them until they tighten and than one More crank for good measures. I used the dielectric grease on the wires.
Right and there’s no telling what the owners before me were running or if they even changed the spark plugs and wires at all. So I guess time will tell. I’ll run it for about 10 or 15 K and then pull one of the plugs and see what’s going on.
174k and those are pre gapped. I think they are the same plugs that are in 2010 Camaro.
I replaced them with ones for the Tahoe Instead which are also pre gapped from factory. Either .35 or .40mm I believe. I could be wrong
Yea seems to be running a lot smoother and even shifting a lot smoother. Idk how to explain but the acceleration feels much smoother and not as rough or uneven if that makes sense. The nice gentleman who was nice enough to show me how to change my plugs and wires says it could just do too high...
Bought them last summer and just now getting to them. I have a few questions. It was a pretty easy but I noticed some of the plugs tips were ashy red, some were ashy white and some had oil on the threads. At 175k my dad keeps saying it’s normal for high miles. Need a second opinion. I was gonna...
Popped wheel off. Seems like rotor turns free for 9/10 of the rotation than it very slightly binds. I don’t hear the squeaking noise really. I hear something
have no $ till pay day.
However, I do have the little pump jack that comes with the Tahoe. Should be enough to lift up the front left end and inspect the brakes and rotor. Gonna do that once I leave the gym.
