Any benefit to running anything above regular (87 octane) in 4.8L V8?...

If your engine has a factory tune on the ECM, running a higher grade fuel will not change anything. Your engine/ECM are tuned for 87 octane and to handle any detonation based on that. Changing fuel without changing the tune doesn't do any good because the ECM doesn't know it has any different...

2005 Denali XL Speakers from Crutchfield won't work?

Did you mess with the wire harness going into the door from under the dash at all, or do nothing more than replace a speaker? Were you running new wiring for the speaker?

    Is a Denali worth it?

The 6.0 does only require 87 octane. Unless the ECM is tuned for running something more than that, you won't really get any benefit from it. People run premium for all kinds of different reasons (more power, cleaner, etc) and think it does something, but for the most part, it's a placebo effect.

    Thin gray line tahoe build

Find a new tuner, a stage 3 cam and stall should not cause issues like that. Have you reached out to Blackbear? Highly reputable on here, they've done two of my vehicles and been great.

    Lowering a Tahoe

DIY for me may be very different than DIY for you. I don't know your skills, so I can't say if you can do it or not. Can you change rear springs? Can you change out front hubs and spindles, maybe control arms if things are found to be bad? Replace shocks? Depending on how low you go, can...

Alternatives to Rear Seat Audio ?

I think you can disconnect it, you just need to connect the pins from each connector to close the circuits again. Basically bypassing the audio controls. I remember reading something about that on here before, someone else did it.

2003 Chevy Tahoe Performance Chip Recommendations

From a "chip" alone? Not a chance. You'd need way more than just a tune for 60hp, and definitely not from a plug n play preprogrammed tuner (chip).

Engage starter, radio shuts off for a split second??

Ahh, I thought you meant the usual radio goes off while cranking. Not actually losing power. Got it now. Yep, as Fless said, load test and check all your cables, grounds, connections, etc.

Engage starter, radio shuts off for a split second??

That's always been the case with every vehicle I've owned. They cut power to all other accessories since the starter has such a draw.

2005 UQ7 Bose Speaker size question

Both front and rear doors are 6.5s. They say 5.25 will work, because they will with an adapter. As far as using the factory holes, that would depend on the aftermarket speaker and the hole locations for that specific speaker. Sometimes you get 3 out of 4 that line up, sometimes more or less...

    Moar POWER!!!

I'd think the hardest part of swapping a newer engine like that in would be having to run a stand alone control system. Then there is all the fab work that would be required to get it to fit in the old body style, fabbing mounts, exhaust, etc etc. Making the cluster work, or having to replace...

    04 lowered and hauling advice

I have the AirLift 60742 kit installed in my Yukon that's lowered 2"/4". They work great when I was pulling our camper with it. Hardly any squat in the back at all

    Power outlet panel

You can try pulling the driver side knee bolster panel, see if you can get at them that way. Otherwise, the trim for the center console is just held in with a couple screws and clips. Doesn't take 5 min to pull out.

    best aftermarket carpet?

There are a few on here that have used Stock Interiors carpet and really liked it. They send free samples to color match as well. I've looked at them, but have a few other things to come before the carpet.

2003 Chevy Tahoe Performance Chip Recommendations

Another vote for an actual tune. Especially when you look at the cost to gains. You're dropping $300-500 for a plug n play diablo or similar, and a full on PCM tune will cost right in that same range with far more gains than anything you'll ever plug in under dash.

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

Haven't really done anything on this yet, trans will be coming out soon though. I've been tied up with other house projects, bathroom remodel. I haven't been in much of a rush since I'm not driving it a whole lot, even though we haven't had much snow in Michigan. I'm thinking it'll come out...

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

I found a pretty reputable guy near by that does a lot of performance builds on these transmissions. Been doing it a long time, typical gear head. I think I'll go with him, if for nothing else, he's 15 minutes from my house and sounds like it'll be about half as much as Performabuilt, give or...

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

Logged my drive and sent it off to Justin. Didn't get a reply I wanted, he noticed 1st to 2nd shift is slipping pretty good under load. I hadn't felt anything really noticeable before, but I can't say I'm terribly surprised with 208,000 on it and I'd assume original trans. Soooooo, I'm looking...

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

Yeah, likely right. I was looking at a windage tray and pan I have from the old 6.0L I put in my Camaro, not likely it came through there. Now that it's dropped temps, I really don't want to get under there and drop that pan though lol, especially with Michigan temps where they are now. I...

I got my initial tune back from Blackbear, bled the cooling system, all the usual post reassembly checks (plugged the MAP sensor in that I somehow missed and had a P0107 for), and test drove..... so far so good. Even drove it going out to dinner last night, put a good 25 miles on it. Not a...

I fired it up again today to see if I can pinpoint where the noise is coming from, it's no longer making any noise. Back during disassembly, I dropped a valley cover bolt, and couldn't find it for a while. I thought I found it on a crossmember, since the bolt I found looked identical to the...

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

Finally got it ready, fired it up tonight and it ran great........ for about 3 minutes. Then something, somewhere came loose and was rattling around. I shut it down, let it sit. Started it back up and was still there. It's not a consistent, rhythmic rattle, more like something randomly...

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

So I decided to just throw the 317s back on for now to get it running at least. I'll either get the 799s ported or get some other heads maybe next year, along with a NNBS/TBSS intake. I'm almost done, just seem to have misplaced injector O rings, so a new set will be here tomorrow. It also...

They're in the back so it won't be easy to get at with a drill, partially tucked under the firewall/cowl.
