I just did this repair by getting just the strut and swapping it out. Easy job. Unless you’ve had an accident or something really odd happen the springs should be fine.
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. Yeah, lots of different opinions and results from trying different brands. There’s a reason GM uses what they use. OEM brands could be from a few suppliers. If you go to gmpartsdirect website you can get a part number and cross reference different makes...
I believe the entire seat back has to come off, which isn’t a huge deal. There are lots of home remedies for removing smells. My favorite is apples cut into quarters.
There will be lots of opinions on this one. If I were to tow that much weight with the most precious cargo ever I’d only do it locally but that’s just me. A 31 foot trailer with that dry weight leaves you less than 500 pounds for people and gear. However, there are several folks here that do it...
Which Denali trim are you looking at and what features are most important to you? Your estimate of 6-8k less for a Denali should also show the Escalade being 6-8k more when new.
It’s sounding more and more like a power supply problem but I may be wrong. Did you get your alternator and battery tested? Let me call in a couple of folks more versed than me on electrical issues. @iamdub @swathdiver
I had a service manager describe the sensation of a rough idle this way. He asked me if it felt like when you’re fishing and you get a nibble on your line, just a little tug. Then it starts to feel like a bigger tug but when you start driving it goes away. He said it was normal but modern cars...
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. My only experience with these is removing them from fading but I’m sure some folks with new $100,000 rigs are using them and they’ll chime in.
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. Mine does this occasionally. Can you lift it by hand? My problem was with the lifting strut not pushing enough to open it. There’s also a fairly common problem of corrosion on the wires between the gate and body at the top.
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. Did your mechanic look or find any old stored codes? Replacing injectors at 117k seems early but you never know. What type of gas are you running? I’ve heard of rough idle associated with AFM/DOD but if it’s a new problem that wouldn’t make sense.
You’ve got to wonder why they did that. I’m ok with none on the driver’s side as I can use the steering wheel. But the passenger side needs one. My wife is 5’2” and even with my rig being lowered 3” she still needs the running board and grab handle.
I had this happen on my 14 Sierra. I noticed the gauge was reading 15-16 volts. Upon testing my alternator the gauge was right. We caught it before it killed my battery or anything else. Most parts stores test batteries and alternators for free.
