I don’t have any experience with Crown or Rideco. It looks like they’re saving money on the spindles. Summit has the McGaughy kit for $589. The kit you showed says for an Escalade so check your fit before you order. If the PO didn’t already replace the compressor and shocks be thinking about that.
$300 is a significant amount, to me anyway. to me. Get the 3” drop springs in a kit that includes shock extenders and carefully read reviews of any off brand parts. If one of them is Detroit Axle beware.
Some audio guys will chime in. I’m sure there’s a way around it but my rig only shows in the back unless I’m in park. As for mounting, can you get to the backside of the console and tap in from inside to make your connection?
Are they from the same generation? I don’t think any of that changed during that run but you can ask the seller to measure the seat mounts in his rig and compare them to yours. Otherwise a 30 minute trip that saves you a lot of cash isn’t that bad if you try them in your rig and they don’t fit.
Are they better? Maybe. The big name suppliers are big bc they have a track record of quality. They also have everything you need in one stop.
When someone says “hey I have a kit from McGaughy” I know what they’re dealing with and most big names have great warranties.
If you’re doing spindles...
I got the same one Wes and Trey did. I don’t know how it works so much better but they’re right. I can unlock or remote start big mama from my living room. Here they are side by side. Not much difference in size and definitely doesn’t snag on anything.
My son uses a small mount attached to his vent. It doesn’t really block much air. It clips on and uses some kind of fancy material that looks like rubber. No magnets or goo. I can put my phone on it or his and it just sticks. I’ll see if I can find it. He’s a techy so if it didn’t work he’d...
You should be good if your rig is already wired for them. The puddle lamps usually come on when you unlock the car or when you open it from either side. You’re most likely right that someone replaced at least one of them with cheaper mirrors, thus the one side has nowhere for the light.
It’s a little hard to see the connector due the the broom handle on the wall. Someone else may know right away but if not can you take a picture of the connector?
As a side note I had a piece of plastic break off somewhere along the way that was rattling. It was inside the metal frame.
Some say holding it under your chin with your mouth open works but I’m not sure I’d want to do that. Most likely the fob needs replacing. No big deal they’re everywhere.
