The rear shocks are the only auto leveling part so they need air lines to raise the height when you hook up a trailer or carry a heater load inside the rig. The front doesn’t have auto leveling so no air is needed. The front uses electronic signals to tell the shocks how soft or firm to be based...
What size tires are you running now? Have you looked at the tire size calculator for help? Since you’re using the same wheels measuring how much space you have now and adding the extra width should be pretty straightforward.
I’m like you, I wish you could mount one tire and try it on all 4...
Gotta love brother in laws. Since it was parked have you checked the bulbs? I believe there’s a ground on the base of the B pillar on the bottom. They go under the sill plate and can get pretty crusty. As for your question I’ll defer to others but I think the relay to the BCM or ECM would blow...
Sometimes clips get damaged when parts are removed or the hole where the clip inserts gets wallowed out. I’d have said upholstery shop fix it. They’ll know exactly what to do.
I’ve never seen this fastener before with that extra arm but most either have you use a pick tool to either push down or lift up the center pin then use a panel tool to lift out the fasteners. A tip is to get some extras before you get frustrated and pry the whole thing up with a panel remover.
As @Geotrash mentioned the type of suspension you have can dictate the repair process. Brakes are very straightforward as is shock replacement.
There are tons of videos on YouTube showing the repair but the first step is knowing you can do it.
Here’s a short list of steps to follow.
Watch...
Good job taking it on yourself. I tell my kids the hardest part of doing anything new is having the stones to try.
Other things I tell them to remove anxiety is to have all parts and tools before starting, have another vehicle if things go wrong, watch videos beforehand and take pictures along...
My problem was the strut bent and popped off the panel. I never got it to reseat very well so I used a small piece of black gorilla tape where the 2 pieces come together until I get new clips.
Love the updates James. How many miles on the current axles? I replaced mine a couple of years ago and one is already leaking. If nothing else get the new ones now. You know they’ll be more expensive later on.
Thanks fellas. I definitely don’t want to rub. I used the calculator to see what might be a bigger sidewall. I have all season tires now so I’m wondering if a different compound or type might help?
I’ve replaced all of my suspension in the past year and kept the stock setup so I think that...
My 07 Denali needs new tires and I’d like a little softer ride in my old age. She currently has U2-55’s size 22x10 with 305/40/22 tires. She rarely rubs, mostly on right rear under load. I’m thinking 285/45 but wanted feedback on your experience with size and comfort. She’s lowered 2” in front...
The later the year in most generations usually gives GM time to figure things out. Reports show many problems, TSB’s and some recalls with the 2015. DOD/AFM has been a problem almost since it’s inception. Be sure to listen for the tick tick tick of lifter problems on any rig you find.
If...
And the other unfortunate thing is any potential buyer has to take your word that the transmission, transfer case, A.C. etc all work since you can’t start it. I get selling it. My wife gives up an a rig if it breaks down while she’s driving it.
12k seems like a lot but everything seems to. I guess the question is how much you like this truck. You’re at the age and mileage where things need service.
Have you checked other engine builders? There are quite a few sources for remanufactured engines with 3 to 5 year warranties and zero...
