Looking to replace our 2008 Tahoe Z71 wheels that are losing their finish, oxidizing and have developed slow leaks.
I've seen "take-offs" from other years on Ebay but they seem to come and go and not sure of those dealers.
I prefer not chrome and easily cleaned so no bolts/screws around the...
All set. A bit of blind work getting the connector out of the frame near the shock and the sensors were reluctant both coming out and going in but luckily that was a simple solution. Happily not the ring on the axle.
The harness connector appears to be plugged in. I wiggled it a bit. I did find that the mounting tab on the sensor at the axle tube is broken and the torx screw was easy to turn so I am presuming they removed or tried to remove the sensor. It has never been out before.
I only did a cursory...
Yes, they changed the bearings. How is the VSES reluctor changed if needed?
My error does states an issue with the "speed sensor circuit" so I guess the easist first step is to swap out the sensor and wire assembly.
Right you are. Fixed my cruise but not the ABS warning. Looks like the left rear speed circuit has a fault.
Wish the spare tire was out of the way.Wrestling that thing is not back friendly.
Ok, so I found two codes myself. I have no idea how the mechanic came up with a grocery list of codes but all I got was the two.
One is about "Brake switch high voltage" and the other is "Left rear wheel speed sensor circuit".
I suspected an issue with the brake switch because the cruise control...
Just picked up our '08 Tahoe (4wd Z71) after a rear differential rebuild and I have new ABS and Stabilitrac warning lights and the mechanic said he got C0245, C0035, C004 and C0045 error codes on his scanner. Those things appear to be about both front and one rear wheel speed sensor faults and...
Add a square 18"x 18" of 3/4" plywood on your list to put you jack on. That's from the state of RI beach driving requirements and the OBX sand is a piece of cake compared to RI where the sand behind the dune seems like powder. Our tires were sunk in up to the rims while traveling their sand...
It was just part of the experience for us. The thrill of having the beach to ourselves was worth anything.
we were there on one trip when they were moving the Hatteras light house due to erosion, and we asked the ranger on hand if the area was a good place to buy a house. His answer was "it...
Pushing about 110,000 miles, most for any vehicle owned so the question is are universal joints routinely replaced as a matter of maintenance before failure?
Never had any problem with either Tahoe or any Jeeps. Smoother tread tires are more suitable.
It used to be the last frontier but the last time we went, after the Park service lost a lawsuit to the Audubon Society, there were many beach closings due to bird habitat (and it changed daily) and...
I remember being at a dealer that tried that stunt with "yellow" C5 corvettes. Five-thousand for a particular color?
Simple solution was to go down the road to a dealer that actually wanted the business.
I always remember that dealers are independent and not General Motors so they get to do...
When I bought my 2008 Tahoe (new) gas was just about what it is now.
The difference is that I ordered my Z71 and paid $10k under invoice.
Still driving it and have no aspirations to let it go before it falls apart.
I have had many vehicles including motorbikes with piston slap and that's not it.
It does sound like our subaru when the air conditioner compressor clutch turns on and off, and it does it several times like that sound you have. Might be worth a listen. If it is, maybe it's something odd going on...
I scoff at the nay sayers that don't have first hand experience.
Nitrogen has been a good thing for me. Our '08 wheels were becoming an issue with slow leaks. My tire dealer fixed them twice for no charge and the problem just came back 6 months later each time. I had the choice of replacing the...
WE built our house. We didn't have one built. Even when I was charging $140 and hour for my time spending that much seems inconceivable. Hope it treats you well.
Around here we just need an insurance card for the vehicle and a pile of money. I see that the pile now might need a wheel barrow to keep from further harm to oneself.
