LOL, I've only taken one vanity shot- it's the one in my driveway. The profile shot is a picture I got on line. joe

Also, I appreciate y'all catching the humor. Written stories don't always come through, especially for cranky old bastids like me. I'm not sure I'm up to rarified air. I'm still just blue collar trash [and proud about it]. joe

My immaculate '95 Tahoe 2-Door- I doubled the horsepower

In all seriousness, the extra power is obvious. The rack and pinion steering is much better than the recirculating ball, and I even found a deal on Goodyear Eagles, for the 22s, for it. When I was young, I drilled about a bazillion holes in my breather. If there was any underhood heat to...

My immaculate '95 Tahoe 2-Door- I doubled the horsepower

I was looking for the cheapest way to increase the factory rating of 200 HP, without hurting reliability or driveability. I finally decided the simplest, cheapest way to 400 HP was a trade, even up. I have an '07 Escalade now. I miss the Tahoe but the Escalade is a nice drive. It's grown on...

    New From Tulsa

Come on now, ain't nothin' wrong with a little midday gunfire. I remember, 50 years ago, when those apartments on the NE corner of 61st and Peoria were were new and pretty fancy. I played my first ever foosball in their game room at the office; with The Doobie Brothers' 'Black Water' playing on...

    6.2L or Duramax reliability

Isn't CO2 plant and tree food? Governments are magnets for the greedy, the crooked, and the sociopaths. You will never get governments to stop trying to run your life. The protections our founders built in are steadily being destroyed. Dumb and dependent is the perfect citizen. joe

LOL Expedience makes right, huh? I can guess your politics. Even aside from believing you can lock in the future, you want to get angry and claim that lying and cheating about your title make you "trustworthy(!)". joe

I have to wonder how old you are. Did you get a signed contract from Life saying that it agrees to abide by this plan? Is there a provision included in case you, or Life, decide later to make a change? I think it's a bad move. joe

Roof Rails in Black (rails, not cross bars)

This may be the last choice but I had mine removed and powder-coated. My truck's a '95- I don't know how much good it actually did but I told the guy to abort if anything looked old/bad enough to cause a leak after the work. It's been a couple of years and so far so good. joe

    Consensus on Cold Oil Changes

Old wives aren't necessarily liars or stupid. It's not about flushing the sludge, it's about the grit and contaminants. joe

    Consensus on Cold Oil Changes

Hot is better because contaminants in the engine are suspended better in the oil. As the engine sits and the oil cools, contaminants are allowed time to settle, so they won't be as thoroughly flushed. The logic of this is evident to me, but I didn't make it up. The Navy taught me this long ago...

    Dash redo for 2023?

IDK guys, I like an analog look even if the works are actually digital. But I also prefer CDs to downloads and books/magazines to computer screens. Give me sweeping needles over flashing numbers any day. I do like the gage cluster look in post 1. joe
