Head unit is an Alpine iLX-W650, its a 7" screen. All I really cared about was Bluetooth and AndroidAuto. Alpine also has a small amp that easily interfaces with this head unit to get a little more power to the factory speakers, which I might end up doing when/if I upgrade those stock speakers...
Finally decided on a head unit, of course the purchase got escalated when the auxillary and radio kept toggling back and forth.
Picked up an Alpine head unit with a 7" touchscreen, and installed with with steering wheel controls with a complete installation kit from Amazon. I'll post up part...
That is funny, I found a round in mine as well (pic posted somewhere in my build thread).
Did you finish up? I'm in Mebane, but just saw this thread.....
So my factory radio decided to act up, so I had no choice but to order something. The OEM kept switching between Aux/Tuner on its own, very frustrating......but if you punch the trim around the right side of the head unit, it would clear up for at least 5-10 minutes.
Ordered the Alpine...
Shift into neutral from road speed and see if the shudder still exists, that could eliminate a lot of the drivetrain. This is also when it helps to have a buddy you can also swap wheels/tires with for the length of a test drive. Even though you feel confident with your own setup, it never hurts...
Be careful on the wrap, do you homework. I got a complete interior wrap kit for my Tahoe from RVinyl. Ended up not fitting worth a shit. Luckily I prepped/wrapped quickly once I had the vinyl on hand, and found out the fitment wasn't great. I returned it to the vendor, and a week after they...
Thanks!
It's plug and play, all you need is the buttons. Or in my case, the actual hoop of the steering wheel was separating from the metal inside, so I just tossed on a leather wheel with the SWC's. Worked instantly.
If you with aftermarket and not OEM replacements, spend the money on the best pad they have. Unless you don't care about the new pads making so much noise with the light application of the pedal, that everyone around you thinks you are driving around on metal to metal brakes. Ask me how I know......
Yup, best investment for the outside look of my Tahoe that I've made. My factory lenses were badly yellowed. I can't recall the vendor I went with, but it is surely documented in my headlight link below in my sig.
I ditched my spare and got on the AAA plan my whole immediate family is on. :) Then again, I have enough car friends around if I need something.
There is a good chance I still have this laying around my garage with my jack and all of the rest of the spare tire equipment. I removed all of that...
If you end up like me, and go through phases were you try different bulbs and setups for your headlights (or anything in the front housings), you can leave that side bolt out.....the once accessed from the removed inner fenderwell. Those two top bolts and the bottom divots that snap into the...
Came here to post this as well, had the same in my experience. This is definitely one difference between cheap (box store) LED's and top shelf pieces. Not calling you out for that by any means, hell you may never have a problem with them beyond rotating them to get them on. There are certainly...
Hope it works out! I contemplated buying one of the cheap Chinese radios with similar features to the top DD head units (for 200-300 bucks). That one is less than 100 bucks on Amazon, but it totes some really bad customer service and product reviews. With my luck I'll have all the issues, but...
I've been daily driving my Belltech setup since I put it on (752SP kit). Zero issues with it. Can't argue over the other brand since I am not familiar, but I'm happy with my kit from Tony.
This I believe is going to be a case by case response, it just depends on what condition your vehicle was left in from the agency who removed all of the equipment. From reading others' posts on here on various things, I feel privileged with condition my truck was in and was restored to before it...
Almost pulled the trigger this morning, kind of in a hold pattern.
I'm a hardcore Android person, that will never change. To see that Google has developed wireless compatibility with AndroidAuto, but has limited the push of this software to their own devices and a few select non-Google devices...
Being you left the stock wiring and sounding like you did a basic (not high end) speaker replacement, you seem as if you are right along the lines for the same goal I am after. Better radio features and better sound than stock, am I right? I personally don't feel the desire to add an amp, I...
