Send it! The way I understood it, if you cant hit dead center on drive side, you're better to be a few hundred thou more toe than heel. IF there's wear over time it's more likely to be drive than coast which will, in effect, move the ring away from the pinion a couple 0.00001's(not much)...

So I wanted to wrap this up.... Thank you all for your help! Per the norm, I was wayyy over thinking this, and trying to save a couple dollars... The guy who had the two original right here in my back yard that was out of town working didn't reply to 3 texts from me asking if he was home...

Even if mine has the factory wires for it? The Tekonsha is installed and fully functional, just hasn't been used to tow yet... Wires were factory buttoned up and labeled under steering column... I bought the plug, soldered and sealed it on and P3 worked? You're welcome, you earned 'em I...

and: AXN :happy107: In order of importance- Non-Engine= 1. Hook up to a trailer and press send.... lol But seriously go feel it out, if you're not towing 7500# or more from Knoxville to Pittsburgh and back everyday, I think you'll be very happy with what you've done 2. Brakes(forgive me...

My passenger side WSS has done this twice since my swap! Now I'm wondering if it has something to do with a different angle on a bracket or maybe the WSS attachment points on the 14 bolt are clocked at a slightly different time than the 10 bolt? possibly causing the wire to be pulled...

There were no other replies to read anyway lol Im a little of the belief that the ring and pin may be the hardest metals in the the entire vehicle!?!? I've now seen 3 pinions do a miniature pulverization to the concrete they landed on when knocked loose without so much as a scratch on Pinion??\

Sorry James... Had long week... Both are a hair on the toe which, if I remember correctly would want ring gear moved away from pinion... But I'd be willing to wager that by the time you got to the next bolt hole on the adjuster, you'd be too far out the other way?? It's really close...

I'm sure yours will be perfect! Actually that might be a bad thing to say....or for someone to read. Some rear end patterns simply cant be made to be perfect on drive and coast. Backlash can be right in the dead center of the range and a pattern can be incredible on drive and buried...

Rear Differential: 9.5" 14 bolt question

Copy that! Cooling system will likely be even more of a factor here too... Thank you... A stroker would be another nice heavy towing mod lol... Never explored that option for the LS? I've been day dreaming about shrink-wrapping the original motor in my 1980 Corvette and putting a...

Rear Differential: 9.5" 14 bolt question

I like that your mods were goal oriented... And I have no doubt they truly enhance the towing experience... For you and the truck... A lot of mine were "wow that looks cool" -or- (my bread and butter) spawned by breaking parts... What can you tell me about your 1800 stall? I've...

Originally cheaped it, bought an $8 paper gasket. Looked at it for a couple weeks. Picked it up a couple times. Dropped it once, and gasped because I thought it was going to be damaged. Even made a protective case, a giant envelope of cardboard and painters tape to protect it.....then one...

Ok well, I haven't done anything to it yet.... But in 4.68hrs I'm embarking on a one hour drive that will likely result in my building an OE track width Pre-Runner? Picking up a pair of Fox Factory Series 2.5 Remote Reservoir front coilovers. They are 4" longer than factory at 23.46"...
