Decided on 14 bolt 9.5" w/3.42 and front R&P swap -instead of- putting an Eaton Detroit Truetrac carrier in my 10 bolt. A little more work and a couple hundred more $$(at least until I sell my 10 bolt), but I tow one of 3 trailers a couple days a week avg, always have a few hundred lbs in the...
Thanks.. 100% honest: it was more out of cautious concern to ensure that it works here in a couple days than it was experience. That and Meticulous OCD Syndrome.
Im just glad I was alone when picking out the marker colors! Took me like 10min, felt like an hour lol......Wanted to...
Just went through this in December
+1 on Geo's answer
Would add Control Arm Bushings.....and every other bushing you can get to lol. But seriously, if you're going to split it up and do some of it later(what I did also); I recommend doing the sway/stabilizer bar end links and bushings...
took about a 6" chunk of 4 X 6 with a 5/8 hole drilled right along one edge to fit the lug pattern, and 3-4 mild body blows from a 16lb sledge. I could see the splines showing on the outside of clips before my shoulders were past the license plate
Thank you all
gonna assess housing and axles...
We'd prob get along just fine then :D
Using my 20/20 hindsight (because God knows my current eyesight is no longer 20/20) I was able to see the pattern of different people from completely different facets of my life telling me I was too ******* _____(insert noun of choice here), and it...
This is a debatable and fluid statement I'm about to make but: They're the best bang for your buck jack stands ever made for retail sale
I've not examined any High high end jack stands in my life but after a thorough examining of these, I can't see too many ways they could be made better...
Half of my 24x26 garage is saws, materials and toolboxes. I had just finished getting her car in here and leveled at about 26" off ground for a weekend service to replace brake lines, change front & rear diff oils, trans oil, plugs, and O2 sensors when it happened lol. Did the brake lines...
IMO, that sounds like an excellent opinion. Thanks, I was trying to be as gentle as possible to avoid axle button and/or R&P damage. Temps are skyrocketing to the upper 20's over next hour so I'm about to go back at it
Thanks for the reminder! and it's only 16 degrees here. Once I get carrier out I can front axle drive it into heated garage but....
Not sure if the word "habitual" applies because I've tamed myself down to about a one-per-month or so average, but I have (let's call it) a history of breaking...
Watched that one earlier, I hope I feel all happy go skippy like that music by the end of the weekend. Also hope I'm able to spin mine around by hand on the ring by end of weekend, currently requires bar through lugs
Yes sir, brakes off. Pin is out. Gonna try ratchet strap and smaller(size)...
Hello, My foot and my G80 got into a fight this morning at the bottom of my driveway. G80 Carrier Case is pretty much shattered in place. A chunk of it along with one spider gear came out with the big chrome pin. I've spent about 3hrs now trying to get the C-clips off the axles.
For...
Thank you. I've been struggling through this suspension decision making process. I've always been a bit of an over-analyzer....sometimes that's a blessing....and sometimes that's not a blessing.
Your other post(quoted above) caught my attention when I read it the other day. I started to say...
I went with the Dorman also. It's been 16mos or so with zero issues. Feel like it was marketed as an upgrade to 270psi? Interesting what you said about may not be comm with comp as much?
When you get a min, please let me know if I am I understanding these springs correctly? The Moog 81071...
After being in the impressive archives on this site for a few days and re-reading my own post about the ride the Z55 system provides, and then thinking back to how it handles this specific 60yrd long narrow little stretch of 2 lane where the road cambers hard towards the shoulder-then...
I'll never forget the time I asked the mechanic my buddies and I used [whenever we broke something we couldn't fix] about installing drilled slotted vented rotors on my '95 Explorer? He was in the process of removing the creek water I had sucked up into my intake. He paused, looked up at me...
It very well could be in both of our cases? or has a hairline crack that may only become a "vacuum leak" under load? Somewhere in my multi-quote quagmire of a post I wrote that I felt like mine was possibly only leaking under load, when the engine was twisting and torquing around in sequence...
Really haven't done any research on Suncore, outside of search for who makes z55's. I'm about to though, will get back to you w/results...
I think about this subject every day, it's hard not to when I'm driving with my Z55 fuse pulled and blown ride height bladders on my rears. The simple...
Thanks for reply.. Changed O2 sensors in June '21 and everything was back to normal for about 2 weeks, I even posted about prob being solved on Av forum....and then it went right back to rich condition and large negative numbers on LTFT.. However I did buy cheap sensors!?!?
One thing I...
Thanks you for the suggestions. I broke protocol yest morn and quoted the several members that I felt had the best replies on the three threads I read, and did it all in one long post. 1. I know better than to make small novel posts tagging multiple people because they're confusing and...
I've spent a lot of time trying to make myself pull trigger on either OE Z55 replacements or ditching and going high-end passive's. The only brand indication I see on these struts you've linked is Mac Auto Parts, which looks to be an Ebay parts store only? I've not heard of them but that...
I also met the parts Depot Mngr for one our local Chev dealers at a party last fall. He became a little intrigued by this and asked a few of his service guys and either they refused to give him the answer w/o my bringing it in -or- they were stumped also??
I feel like if I could pin down...
