Spent WAY too much time researching ride quality of 3" proper lift vs. 2.5" front:1-2" rear level kit for my 2015 LT Tahoe. Suggestions?

Have you seen a 3” proper lift kit somewhere? I only know of the 4” BDS, the rest are 6” plus as far as true suspension lifts go. Then there’s rough country / fabtech 3.5”, readylift 4” (like I have), etc. But those are the “budget” type lifts, taller leveling kits with diff drops and control arms

    Towing after lift on 21

Yes, hitch height on my 17 is quite high as well. I’m 4” lift, 11” drop ball mount, with a 5x8 utility trailer. Tongue is a bit high but not crazy.

Show off your 2015+ leveled Tahoes and Yukons!

Same experience for me. I ran Toyo M/T’s on my F150, then switched to A/T II’s for the winter hoping for a little better snow/ice performance, but they frankly weren’t a hole lot better than the M/T’s. The A/T III’S are winter rated so should be better. One of the reasons I don’t love the BFG...

@dudesweet, what do you think of the a/t iii’s?

    BFG KO2’s

Love/hate for me. Overall good tire with aggressive looks, I think mostly because of the sidewalls. Quiet, decent in snow, run smooth when warm. Cooler weather, they flat spot overnight, rain they break traction really easily, pick up a little vibration here and there at higher speed. Will say...

2017 Tahoe-Brake disc, pads and hoses

+2, I’ve run the z36 kit multiple times now on multiple vehicles. The coated rotors are nice, resist rust for a while. Pads have good grab and minimal brake dust. I’ve had their red calipers on previous vehicles, powder coat holds up really well, this time around on the Yukon I painted my originals.

    HD Hood to Yukon Denali

The way the hood on the Yukon sits over the fenders and headlights don’t think it would be close to any of the pickups, it’s not even like the Tahoes. I would love to have some aftermarket choices for the Yukon, but there’s just nothing out there. I even considered a hood scoop for a minute, but...

Don’t underestimate the “power” of the power steps, might be why it looks a little taller. Amp research tuck up even more...

17 Yukon 4” ReadyLIFT SST Lift

Can't speak for the Bilsteins, prior to the 4" I was running the suspensionmaxx 2.5/1. Overall I was happy with it but if I was keeping it figured I should do UCA's at some point (I had factory stamped).

17 Yukon 4” ReadyLIFT SST Lift

Thanks, yes, I'm really enjoying the new look. Good info from Stormin. 1. The tires are 285 55 20. Not quite a 33", they're closer to 32". You could get away with 33's, I went a little more extreme on the offset with 20x10 -24 so they'd stick out a bit. If you go with a 9" wide wheel with...

Are there good tunes out for the 2019+ Tahoe 5.3L?

Looks like we have two things in common.

Are there good tunes out for the 2019+ Tahoe 5.3L?

I tried the hypertech first, didn’t like anything the tranny was doing stock, hypertech was an improvement but anything that made a difference seemed to slam into gears, seemed to rough. Went to Blackbear, 100% worth the extra money. Night and day over stock, much better than hypertech too.

    2015 GMC YukonXL- Fox Coilovers

@Nokturnal how did the Nittos do in the snow? I’ve been able to test the BFG’s around here too. This is when it started, ended up with over a foot.

    Question for those with corsa

I have a magnaflow quad tip on my LS1 Trans Am, I like the sound but quite different than the Corsa on the 5.3, the Corsa just sounds angry... in a good way. The other day an intern was walking out to his car parked next to my Yukon, i blindly remote started from inside, another coworker who was...

    Question for those with corsa

17 Yukon with 5.3 and corsa sport. Nice sounding exhaust, cold start during the winter is a bit loud for the neighborhood, but driving is perfect in my opinion. I have v4 tuned out but had it for a minute and drone was barely noticeable. I’m a magnaflow fan but the corsa exit and tips looked...

16 Suburban wind noise 60+ mph

Worth a shot, thank you @longhornjon . I did tape along the front edge of the b-pillar cover with no change, but I'll watch it with the mirror as well. I noticed when I push on the middle of it there was some movement, however, top and bottom are tightly retained and it doesn't seem to come out...

16 Suburban wind noise 60+ mph

@Prospect62 , reporting back and very disappointed to say, what I found above was not my issue. I then spent about 40 minutes driving back and forth on a 55mph road between two parking lots testing with painters tape in every area I could think of, one at a time, on a cold afternoon. Taped along...

Show off your 2015+ leveled Tahoes and Yukons!

20x10 -24 with 285 55 20's. Prior to the 4" lift and amp power steps I was running 2.5" suspensionmaxx in the front with stock fixed running boards. I had to grind down the plastic on the front edge of the running board quite a bit and "light" norcal the wheel wells also. So with leveled 305 55...

    Tire pressure for bigger wheels

Yeah, all about load ranges. Not sure if it’s ok to post a link like this, but this website is awesome. https://tiresize.com/pressure-calculator/ Saves you looking up specs on load charts. I used the 18” passenger tire size at 35 psi from my door placard. Went to 285 55 20 BFG ko2 LT’s and it...

17 Yukon 4” ReadyLIFT SST Lift

Made some tweaks today to allow the ABS wires and brake hoses to move freely during full lock full droop situations in the front, and abs full droop in the back. ReadyLIFT located the UCA brake bracket stud at close to the stock position and it didn’t seem quite optimal on my rig with the lift...

    Help!! Wheel and lift size??

Wheels looks to be 20x10 with a decent lip, so -18 to -25 offset. Tires look pretty wide too, would guess 305 55 20 or 33 12.5 20. My money is on a 4" lift, looks tall because the running boards are off.

    Squeaking in headliner ??

Funny timing, I had the windshield replaced on my 17 Yukon yesterday, got a stone chip on the highway that turned into an 8” crack within a couple hours. Anyway, started driving after the windshield replacement and the headliner was making an obnoxious squeaking noise with every little bump in...
