I don't know what the "tune" does when the PCM knows a knock sensor is down, but judging from watching my knock sensors light up constantly while driving around town (mostly under hard acceleration), I am pretty sure the PCM uses that input as critical data when deciding what to do next.
Maybe...
It seems like Top Dollar +.
Everything is high right now, but pretty much every PhD that follows such things believe it is transitory (won’t last).
To me, this one was clearly a fleet/government vehicle, which means it sold for pretty close to bottom dollar when new and likely the seller...
With my friend, it is pretty pronounced. He is a genuine teddy bear, but unfortunately, people that don’t take the time to get to know him, just think he is a jerk. It is a shame, as he is a super guy, once you get past the superficial personality problems. I think it is the only reason he...
OK, just checking.
Kind of a habit for me I guess as I have a friend who has mild Aspergers. He will launch into very lengthly diatribes that basically mirror something I just said, without the benefit of just saying some like, "I agree, ...."
I always have to check to see if he misunderstood...
I agree with Bill, a proper alignment will straighten it out.
With things out of whack, take it really easy on your way to get it aligned, things can get really squirrelly when it is well out of align.
It looks like a straight slide in for the piece left in. The only thing that appears to hold it would be a lower o ring.
If you have a pick, just hook the lowest part of that inner part and pull up. If you don't have a pick, maybe fashion one from a piece of coat hanger, hammer the end flat...
Probably depends on where the ultimate information is stored, if it is guarded (encrypted in any way), etc. Sounds like for our GM MY’s not much in the way of security for such things. Soon enough PPVs will start showing up with a few hundred hours on the clock…. ;)
Thanks for the clip, very interesting. Seems it is far easier today to roll it back than in days of old. Which means it is happening more frequently… :(
I don't believe GM has a replacement schedule for the diff lube. I read a post on another forum where a GM engineer stated that the diff lube is not considered a maintenance item, that is, that the lube is expected to last the life of the diff. What he didn't say is what GM thought the...
Not sure, I guess it is possible that the PCM is feeding too much gas on a hot start (because it thinks it has a lot more Ethanol in the fuel than it does), just like a cold start.
I only notice it on cold starts, but that is also when the truck is in the garage, so the enclosed space makes the...
Costco E10 87 here has been right at 6% Ethanol every single time I have given it the bottle test.
When I fill up after having run some Ethanol free through for a tank, my virtual sensor usually registers around 17%. If I don’t want a pretty rich mixture while it warms up before it gets to...
I have a PDF of the shop manual on how to debug the shift lock control, I can send it to you if you think it would help.
Edit, I also have the transmission PDF.
I change my fluid and filter every 30K. I do it because the guy who installed my current transmission said that is what he recommended. He did say he didn’t like the flush approach, just drop the pan, replace the filter, refill with enough fluid to bring it back up to recommended levels...
I am unsure as well, but most of what I have been reading in the last few days about Theft Deterrent stuff, it kind of looks like the BCM is where that stuff is controlled.
Let's hope so, although fixing a miss should be pretty straight forward if you know the mechanicals are all straighten out.
