Codes b0770,b0775,b0780,b0785 indicator circuit short to ground/open

Looking at my shop manual for my 2007, most of the diagnostic flow charts end with the TCSCM being replaced, after continuity checking for the light signals, shorts to ground, etc., are eliminated when debugging. The diagnostics is heavy into using the Tech 2 to test things. The replacement of...

    2013 Tahoe/Lifters? Manifold? Piston slap?

Maybe try recording it with the hood open and moving your phone/video camera around, above/below to help identify the source. Frankly, from outside it does sound like a stuck lifter. But it could be an exhaust leak (although those always seem to have a little sharper/shorter note). On the...

2008 5.3 FF hard starting issue

I didn't think your MY had a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, I believe it is in the pump assembly. Key on engine off, the pump will run for a short period to assure prime. I don't think it will keep coming on with each key on/off cycle. You fuel pressure seems off when idling. With...

Torque Converter Shudder...Best Course of Action?

I will take a look in the path documentation I printed off on the Tech 2 a while ago, but I honestly doubt it. I haven’t looked inside one of these TCs but I think it is a purely mechanical device.

Torque Converter Shudder...Best Course of Action?

The last time I looked a few of the online places like GM Parts Direct sold GM reman transmissions. I believe everything they sell is covered under the GM standard warranty and dealers will honor the work.

Torque Converter Shudder...Best Course of Action?

Sounds like we are a lot alike. I would probably go ahead and replace the TC and transmission. I would also spend a little extra and get an OE reman unit. You will have a nationwide warranty and know you have quality build.

2011 Yukon engine dropped a valve... 186k AFM Flex

Another for needing to pull the head to know the extent of the problems. It may be contained to just that head, which would not be a big number to fix. FWIW, I was talking to the regional sales guy from Fraser and he mentioned they sell an AFM deleted version of this engine. They recommend it...

2007 Yukon XL - Rear Main Seal - Seeking Mechanic.

If he is still there, give Mike a call and just tell him what the dealer said needed doing. He can probably give you a quote over the phone. The good news is anything that doesn't need doing, he won't do. Just tell him you got his number from a friend of Joel.

2007 Yukon XL - Rear Main Seal - Seeking Mechanic.

There was a really good independent shop I used on jobs I didn't want to do myself, when I lived in San Francisco. It was owned by a friend of a really good friend of mine. Super honest, super great mechanics. It was C&D Automotive in Burlingame. It has been long time since I lived there...

2007 Yukon XL - Rear Main Seal - Seeking Mechanic.

What Geotrash said. Have you opened the inspection plate and verified it is the rear seal? If it is truly is the rear main, the tranny will have to come out. Maybe try and find a highly thought of transmission shop specialist that will do it for you. Likely end up being less hours and a...

2009 SLT Yukon rough idle for 30 seconds on cold start

If you have a scanner of any sort, it would be good to check for codes. Also it would be very helpful with a scanner to know if the rough running was only in open loop, or if it stopped before you get to closed loop. In addition, during the rough running period, what the fuel trims look like...

    Normal ticking???!!

I think changing the O-ring is more about oil pressure than anything going on with lifters. Adding the AFM oil pressure relief valve deflector is a good idea on engines that were made before they started installing them at the factory.

Engine Light on my 2009 Yukon

You already addressed a few of the possibilities. Others would be a dirty or flaky MAF (there are lots of YouTube videos on how to clean them, be careful), a clogged air filter or intake plenum, leaky fuel injector(s), fuel pressure issues (less likely oil your truck as the pressure management...

2012 LT. Does this motor have the 8 to 4 cylinder problem that the range device addresses? Just bought it today.

The unfortunate thing is nobody can answer your question with factual data, it is only going to be opinions, some stronger felt than others. :) As far as waiting to do something before getting a range device or shutting AFM off in the software, at that point it likely is too late to avoid some...

    Rear Locking Differential Rebuild Price

I agree, my G80 has been very reliable. There are better options for off road centric users but as a daily driver, normally unlocked unit, it is a good compromise. I wouldn't consider an alternative that is normally locked and unlocks as the alternative mode, so if I was upgrading rear ends...

2012 LT. Does this motor have the 8 to 4 cylinder problem that the range device addresses? Just bought it today.

Nice truck, congrats. The 8 to 4 cylinder "problem" is called AFM (Active Fuel Management) and yes, your truck has it. In the later models like yours (nit so in my 2007 Yukon), they made a lot of upgrades to the AFM components and some related issues, such that these models are more reliable...

    Normal ticking???!!

Donjetman is the man, so... :) I am so ****, I would take the manifold off and get at the studs left in the block. I would try tacking something that would let me get a purchase on the stud left in the block and use a lot of heat and penetrating oil. I then would replace all the old bolts...

2013 Yukon Denali 6.2L Lifter issue

If the cam was damaged the first time around, it won't take long for it to do a job on your new lifter. Looking at that cam lobe says you are in for a new cam and some amount of new lifters (and some new OE lifter trays), so an AFM Delete at that point makes a lot of sense. On the other hand...

Stumble/Hesitation AND stalling: *solved, fuel pump*

Those look like nominal pressures. If the ODB scanner shows those pressures while driving (good to stand on it a little to stress things), if it is reading 43 psi consistently, your pump and regulator are probably good.
