    If you don't have the service records I'd get the transmission serviced quick. Consider disabling the AFM. The Z71 option is sometimes included in another option package and not spelled out on the sticker.

    On our '19 I can watch the tach and it will jump a couple hundred rpms when it goes in and out with the torque converter slipping to disguise the changes. Bottom right side of the DIC display will show it too on one of the screens.

    I wonder if you have another problem in the evap.system that is causing an improper pressure situation? Newer vehicles don't have a removable cap, just a spring loaded flap and seal.

    But is this an actual GM warranty or something else? The GMEPP Platinum for that money and length through your local dealer is probably a good way to go - even though their price is a bit high. And one non-covered repair on that late model rolling computer might cost double the warranty purchase.

    I have a question on the cylinder hone finish. Seems lately I'm not seeing the usual crosshatch pattern. Looking at this refurbed block the cylinder finish seems to be more circular? Is this a new practice? Is this something for the new thinner ring packages? I'd worry some about this.

    Not sure how this works on your year machine, but in your situation I'd pull the dongle, run the machine in low range shifted up to 5th gear to keep it in V8 mode.
