    Exhaust/vacuum leak?

Ok, I did this. Ran the engine between 3000 - 5000 RPMs on the way home and held it in 2nd gear (couldn't do 4th because I wasn't on the highway). It seemed to run just fine. It's a Denali, so I always, unfailingly use 93 octane. I also already used the Chevron complete fuel treatment already a...

    Exhaust/vacuum leak?

Yeah, I'm not hearing any rattling can sounds, the truck doesn't really stumble, nothing that I can discern except the hissing and the slight choke on start (in 20 degree weather or so). And no codes are being thrown either. I don't know if this is related, but sometimes, after a long drive...

    Exhaust/vacuum leak?

Lol So yeah, I can hear it the most when I stand right outside the driver's side door up front.

    Exhaust/vacuum leak?

Oh my bad. I thought that saying "driver's wheel well" indicated that it was up front.

    Exhaust/vacuum leak?

My truck is a 2012 Yukon Denali XL. Recently, I started noticing a very loud hissing sound emanating from around the bottom driver's side of the truck. It sounds either like a vacuum or exhaust leak of some kind. The noise is most prominent by the driver's wheel area. Just stand there and you...

Potential danger: side view mirror help!

Thanks so much for this info guys! It's definitely not the mirror gears. It works perfectly if used manually. Someone also said it might be the switches in the door got corroded or got water on them. I'm not so sure that's the case, because the steering wheel tilt is acting up as well...

Potential danger: side view mirror help!

All, I could really use some help here. All of a sudden, my side view mirror (the driver's side) has developed a mind of its own. I had the curb-side assist (park tilt) enabled for just the driver's side mirror. While I was driving home, I went to look at the mirror to see behind me, and saw...

    Differentials and transmission fluids changed

The front differential has a drain plug and a fill plug. The rear only has a fill plug. To drain it, you have to crack it open. I bought 5 quarts of Mobil 1 gear oil. https://www.amazon.com/Mobil-104361-75W-90-Synthetic-Gear/dp/B000ONZXPK I forget exactly how much I used, but when it was all...

    Differentials and transmission fluids changed

On Friday evening, I changed both differential and the transmission fluid for the truck. I started with the rear differential. To my surprise, it was quite clean. The front differential was a different story; the fluid that came out of it looked like mud. The transmission fluid was also very...

2011 Yukon xl headlight retro help

OP, I would not take this recommendation at all. Ignore it. Instead, do a full proper retrofit. You'll want to do something like I did here, using BFC for the retrofit. Tons of before and after pics are included. http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/new-bfc-retrofit-headlamps-installed.89909/

    Differential bolts torque specs

I'm going to be doing the fluid service on my front and rear diffs. I've done tons of research, but can't find anything definitive on the torque rating for the following bolts: 1. Front fill and drain plugs 2. Rear diff cover bolts 3. Rear diff fill plug If anyone can tell me what the torque...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

Have you decided on what you are going to get next? Also, are you allowed to drive the vehicle while you are going through the lemon law process?

    HID upgrades, who's done them?

Dielectric grease is required to prevent this from happening, pretty much. When I upgraded my Denali lights to HID, every single connector got its own serving of dielectric grease. Here is my HID upgrade. I used Black Flame Customs to do mine...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

You need to amend this. It has to be "I want a new one that is 100% free of all issues the previous one had, or my money back for the full purchase price + accessories". IMO, you'd be best served getting all your money back and finding a good 2014 Yukon Denali XL. You'll never have these issues...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

No. The vehicle needs to be repurchased. No $70k vehicle should have these kinds of ridiculous issues, let alone come with this kind of ridiculous service. GM should be bending over backwards for a customer who purchases a halo product like a Denali. Correct. The exact reason why I went with a...

Have developed a rough idle. Cause/Fix?

My '12 Denali XL had very slight rough idle in drive. Enough to feel it when sitting at traffic lights, but it was not continuous. It would happen randomly every so often, but was unquestionably there. I changed the oil, which was PURE BLACK (not sure how many times it was changed!), put in 2...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

At this point, you're severely wasting your time (to clarify, GM is wasting your time). Get the lemon law lawyer right this second, and follow his/her instructions to the letter.

Windows all the way down in rear doors?

Trust me, I know this frustration. One of the many reasons I went with a Denali XL instead of just a Denali. If I went with the latter, I'd have no space in the back, back windows only roll down halfway, a harsher ride, etc.

    Need advice on brake rotors

No, I actually already know this. The design is called a drum-in-hat. I just didn't set the parking brake because I was being extremely picky about it, knowing that the rotor was super hot, so I didn't want any brake material from either the pads or the drum shoes touching the rotor. It was just...

    Need advice on brake rotors

Do it, you won't be disappointed. :D Regarding the break-in, I've found it to be generally true. For me, as soon as I finish the brake job, I do some really light driving, stop and go, for about 5 minutes, to make sure the brakes are not malfunctioning and will hold. Nothing too drastic. Once...

2011 Yukon Xl rear seat rattle

    No need to modify

I personally only mod to bring things up to reasonable expectation of function. For instance, the only reason why I did the headlamp retrofit on my Denali is because the stock lights have piss poor output. Other than that, my ride can be considered stock.
