Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

Update: took it into the shop. Had the most experienced tech take a look. The front differential bushings are perfectly fine. What is shot? The motor mounts. Funny thing is that I did the motor mount test in my driveway, and didn't think I saw much engine movement. But when he did it? It...

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

Update: changed the sway bar links. Did not fix the issue. :( But the ride is considerably improved; the stock ones on there were completely trashed, dried out completely. It was like riding on stones. Front end doesn't jounce over bumps anymore and is completely smooth like glass when cruising...

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

Thanks for the suggestion. I myself have read horror stories about people using tire and wheel sizes that end up wrecking their drivetrains. I can unequivocally confirm that's not the case with me. The wheels are all the same size, tires the same as well. I bought them from Tirerack, had them...

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

Yes, I do. Since I bought the truck, I've driven 66K miles. It only started doing this recently. I've serviced the front diff twice since I got this truck; when I did it the first time, 2.75 qts. or so came out; same this time, so I don't think the clank is because fluid is low. It's definitely...

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

No clicks. Just clanks when going over bumps and with the wheels cocked to the left. Ok, so I went under the truck today. Still not sure what is causing it. I ordered new sway bar links, and am going to try to install them tomorrow. I identified and tightened up the bolts for the front...

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

The thread didn't update before I replied. :D I did already try the motor mount check. The engine barely moves at all (or very slowly/just a tiny bit which looks normal) when I tested for it, so I thought that wasn't it.

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

Thanks for that. I tried doing a search and wasn't able to come up with anything. I did find a bunch of people having a very similar issue. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/07-suburban-front-end-noise.1375/ Paging @Doubeleive. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Uh oh... Is that an expensive job? Is it something I can do myself?

Odd sensation on acceleration from full stop

Vehicle: 2012 Yukon Denali XL. Awesome truck, about to hit 100K, no issues to speak of, except this. When accelerating from a full stop, I get a very odd sensation. It feels like something on the driver's side front suspension/wheel "lags" behind the rest of the truck. Kind of like a thump, but...

    2012 Yukon Denali

Battery is going south. Change it. I had the same issues. Solved with new AGM battery.

Yep, you got it. Of course you want to clean it up well too.

    Yukon Denali HID Problems??

I don't see the justification getting awfully defensive about the subject, notwithstanding the personal insults. Wholly unnecessary. OP, do yourself a favor. Don't install the HIDs into the stock housings. It'll turn into a major PITA and let you down at the most inopportune time. Go with the...

I did. The only one that required a seal is the rest. So far, I've reused it twice with no ill effects.

    Yukon Denali HID Problems??

It's not my opinion more than it is fact. Installing HIDs will eventually burn the stock housings, melt the wires, or who knows what else. There's a wrong way to do things and a right way to do things. Doing a proper retrofit will save him in the long run.

    Yukon Denali HID Problems??

That's the reason why. You shouldn't be using HIDs in the stock housing. You're doing yourself a major disservice, not to mention blinding everyone on the road. You need to do a proper retrofit. Read up on the stickied thread for more info.

    Yukon Denali HID Problems??

So it sounds like you replaced the headlamps with new stock ones, and then installed HID bulbs into it?

    Yukon Denali HID Problems??

Did you install HID bulbs into the stock headlamps?

Just finished a ton of work...ask me anything

Yeah, I highly advise checking the brakes/rotors. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't cost much, and changing it gives you ultimate peace of mind. Trust me, I was shocked to find that there were basically no pads left on all 4 corners. They were almost down to bare metal. I guess it's to...

Just finished a ton of work...ask me anything

Up to 6:26. I did not do anything underneath. Simply ran the drain/refill procedure over 16 quarts, which is as many as it takes to get the fluid completely cherry red. Worked perfectly. For the pads, I believe the rotors up front needed replacing because I'm sure they were warped. I changed...

I consider myself truly lucky to have gotten all 8 done (2 per caliper) without destroying a single one. On the front driver caliper, I had no choice but to replace because one was completely blown out.

Here you can see where I had true hell trying to get it in. This guy simply gave up and cut the video short. :D Start at 7:17.

Here's exactly what I'm talking about. It was literally like this, except mine is a 2012 Yukon Denali XL.

2012 Yukon SLT New and need help! Drivers side leak.

Here's the fix to your problem. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/really-bad-driver-side-water-leak-carpet-soaked.101410/ Bottom line: there's a hole in the weld seam. You can fix it using 3M Windo-Weld. That's what I used to fix the issue...

Just finished a ton of work...ask me anything

Definitely. If your hands are way too big to do it top side, you have no choice but to do it from the bottom. Make sure you remove the wheel well liner, otherwise you might as well be wasting your time.
